Can we take a minute for the Badlands Brief? Decades ago I used to get up early for work, ensuring I would have a little time for morning coffee and the newspaper before I headed out the door to the rat race. I treasured that bit of quiet time, catching up on the news and waking up.
This bit of nostalgia hit me this morning. When I opened the Brief, I sent it to print. Perhaps an extravagant use of paper and ink . . . and well worth it. I had a blissful 30 minutes with my morning coffee and the Brief at my kitchen table. Seriously good. No distractions from my phone or tablet.
Badlands Brief folks, if you could only add a daily crossword and a couple of comics. Kidding. Today’s articles were especially good. Wanted you all to know your work is appreciated.

The agreement gives US companies a leading role in building the kingdom's civil nuclear infrastructure, and could allow a US‑Saudi joint venture to build a uranium enrichment facility on Saudi soil, WSJ reported, citing sources.
The sources said the administration will submit to Congress a document known as a 123 Agreement signed by US Energy Secretary Chris Wright and the Saudi Minister of Energy Abdulaziz bin Salman.
The deal is reportedly worth tens of billions of dollars, locks out Russian and Chinese competitors, and excludes the IAEA from the Saudi nuclear program.
