ICE agents arrest over 1,200 illegal aliens in Georgia — many of them convicted sex offenders, child abusers

The operation, titled "Operation Safe Community – Atlanta," targeted illegal aliens with criminal histories including sex crimes, crimes against children, aggravated assault, drug crimes, weapons offenses, and more. Of the 1,226 illegal aliens arrested, 720 have either been convicted of or charged with crimes in the United States. Inmate captured after escaping from Fulton County Jail, officials say
It appears there has been some sort of incident at the Fulton County Jail. Multiple law enforcement offers were observed near the jail and it appears they may be searching for someone. That information is not confirmed. This is breaking news. ATLANTA - A law enforcement search has come to an end after an inmate named Demetrius Burkes was captured early Thursday morning, according to the Fulton County Sheriff's Office.

In late 2025, the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services, which oversees the state’s foster system, cut services for families and terminated contracts for nonprofits as they faced a projected budget deficit of about $85 million.

Last year, The Current GA reported that the Glynn County Police Department had purchased 86 Flock cameras with an $830,000 state grant. As of mid-August, 80 had been installed. A Washington Post analysis of police and court records found that bad actors across the nation have increasingly weaponized the camera network to stalk relatives or intimate partners. Authorities have charged or accused at least 50 law-enforcement officers of using license-plate readers for unauthorized purposes, including surveilling women without their knowledge or consent, according to The Post.
