๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ช - Another merchant ship attacked.
๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ- The American envoy to Syria Tom Barrack:
There is only one way in front of
the SDF, which leads to Damascus

โ€ขThe Syrian government has expressed incredible enthusiasm to include SDF to its institutions within the principle of one country
one nation, one army, one government

โ€ขthe SDF is slow to respond, negotiate and move forward in this path

โ€ขFederalism is not possible in Syria

โ€ขThe Kurds are a wonderful, amazing and beautiful people within their
countries

โ€ขThe SDF is slowing the implementation of the agreement with the Syrian government
๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡พ- SANA agency, quoting the Syrian government:

We welcome any path with the SDF
Enhancing the unity and integrity of the country's lands

We renew the fixed adherence to the principle of Syria, one nation, one army, one government

We categorically reject any form of partition or federalism that contradicts
With the sovereignty of Syria and its territorial integrity

We thank the American efforts made in caring for the implementation of this agreement, based on the keenness on the stability of the country and the unity of the Syrian people

The Syrian army is the national institution of all the people of the country and welcomes the joining of the Syrian fighters from SDF to its ranks within the approved constitutional and legal frameworks

We understand the challenges facing some parties in SDF

We warn that any delay in implementing the signed agreements does not serve the national interest but rather the scene, and impedes efforts to restore security and stability to all Syrian regions

The Syrian state emphasizes the need for official state institutions to return to the northeast of the country to ensure the provision of basic services to citizens, end the state of administrative void, and promote societal stability
๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ - Mark Carney currently reminds me of pandemic-era Legault.

Currently the "I'm the leader of fifth republic era France and this is an emergency" strategy is working.

But trust me: this kind of strategy works until its not.

The opposition is already starting to do the long, boring job of slowly digging on scandals, potentials topics of public grievances.

Carney is already struggling in some questions periods. Sometimes, he is outright unintelligible in French, and will make tone mistakes even in English.

Here's what's going to happen: parliamentary sessions after parliamentary sessions, the opposition is going to attack him daily about scandals, misfunctionnings and public miscontent. At some point, Carney, who doesn't have the charisma, will lose his temper. He will stop smiling, could also have poor words.

Then, the polls will start to collapse. And at that point, it will be too late: no-confidence motion will be passed, and we will have a strong, stable, national, conservative government.

๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿฟ- Geopolitics of a highly political (but not woke) Superman film by James Gunn:

The film implicitly
criticises:

Elon Musk: the figure of Lex Luthor, rich tech guy who tries to meddle in american politics and influence geopolitical conflicts.

Russia: the invented slavic like nation of Boravia, an ally of the united states which decides to invade the poor country or Jhanapur and split its territory with Luthor.

American Isolationism:
The only way for Jhanapur to survive is by being helped by Superman.
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡บ - US sanctions Cuban president Diaz-Canel.
๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ง-The American envoy to Syria Tom Barrack:
Lebanon is in the existential threat, if it does not move and disarm Hezbollah, it will return to the Levant .
๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ - Ethnic Catholicism and how it impact Canadian politics at the level of the liberal party, despite claims of secularism.

Since Pierre Trudeau and up to Mark Carney, every Canadian prime ministers from the liberal party has been Catholic men, either from French-Canadian or Irish heritage. While this may seem surprising given how secular the liberal party seems to be, notably with leaders like Justin Trudeau who has little public faith, it is in fact totally compatible with what the catholic culture essentially is.

In Luke 23:42โ€“43, Jesus essentially tells a criminal who is dying along him on the cross that he will be welcomed with him in heaven. This is essential to understand catholic religious culture: "ethnic catholics" (or, as it is officially called, "cultural catholics") are expected to, upon becoming 70, starting having strokes and nearing the end of their lives, to return to Jesus. Even amongst baby boomers, this tradition hasn't died down, and I think that multiple signs indicates that this tradition is still very strong.

This concept of "ethnic catholicism" detached from a practicing faith except late in life is inherited from judaism, and is key to understand why, say, Liberal party leaders like Justin Trudeau, despite being ostensibly secular, will be considered legitimate to be liberal party leaders, while any prots who happens to be liberal party leader will "surprisingly" happen to face calls about them "not being Canadian enough". Yes, I'm thinking about Michael Ignatieff.
๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡พ - Heavy clashes reported between SDF and HTS.
๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡พ - The Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management announced that its teams have succeeded in stopping the spread of the fires along the Syrian coast on all fronts, describing the step as the most significant toward bringing them under control.
๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฟ - Syrian President "Ahmed Al-Sharaa" is attending at least one meeting with Israeli officials in Azerbaijan today, according to Israeli channel 24
"a Syrian source" close to President Al-Sharaa tells israeli channel 24 .

The Syrian source stated that this is a series of two or three meetings between the sides, with Syrian Foreign Minister "Asaad al-Shaibani" also in attendance, along with "Ahmed Al-Dalati", the Syrian governmentโ€™s liaison for security meetings with Israel.
Goldberg retired.... damn.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฒ - Paul Biya is candidate for an 8th term to the presidency of Cameroon.
๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฒ - In countries with weak institutions, leaders often don't want to retire because they know that even if they agree to handover power, they will "fall out of a window" or "die of a heart attack" quickly after handing over power.
๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท - The New Caledonia thing was always very complex juridically due to a mix of indigenous policies, separatism, and international law that wasn't necessarily on Paris' side.

Now, a settlement has been found, and I think that its a good deal for the West, for France, and for the local Caldoche population in New Caledonia.
๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท - The "State of New Caledonia, within the republic" will likely be a sui generis international entity. But the fact there is a legally recognized New Caledonian nationality, possibility for recognition and formal international recognitions almost put New Caledonia in the category of a "strong French puppet state" than "Actual French territory per say".

"State of New Caledonia, within the republic" sounds like a HOI:IV game mixed with alcohol that went schizo.
๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ - It appears the Druze will now get their own state...
๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ - The question is now which legal form do you give the Druze state. Do you pretend its just a Druze fiefdom "within Syria" while making it retain largely symbolic ties with Damascus, or do you tell it "declare independence outright" while knowing that even in the West, many unpredictable politicians will oppose recognition out of fear of alienating the Muslim popular base?

A US, British, French, Italian, German, Polish, Canadian recognition would be easy to get if Israel work seriously, those are all safe countries for Israel. From there, recognition from other countries would follow.
