3.28 SC Mirage Double Build Giveaway

Hello Exiles! It’s been quite the league for me. Hit the 5k hour milestone and dropped my first mirror! I’ve had a blast playing a variety of builds, and I usually end my leagues by selling all my gear and gambling, but this time around I wanna give away my two builds that I’ve put the most amount of time and effort into this league.

https://pobb.in/c0v7kIC12zK3

This first build is my Exsanguinate Wardbreak Elementalist. Apologies for the PoB not being configured, I’m at work rn and asked if one of my friends could quickly import and send me my PoB links for this. This build is my crown jewel of the league, that I put the most amount of time and effort into. It started out as a poison DD wardbreak build, and I slowly grinded up to acquiring everything I needed to swap to exsanguinate. I grinded out for the Nine Lives forbidden flesh when they were still going for 1,200 divs. This build has around 2 mirrors of total investment. It can do pretty much anything. AFK Uber Uber Elder, run super juiced breach, delve, sanctum, whatever you wanna run, it can do it. Full DPS including wardshatter is around 200mil. It’s not as tanky as other wardbreak builds since this doesn’t use a Vorana timeless jewel, but is still able to tank almost anything you throw at it.

https://pobb.in/mp3v73sxmQR\_

My second build in this giveaway is my Int/Accuracy stacker Juggernaut, a project I wanted to put together since it was a build I wanted to play last league, but never got around to making. Again, sorry for PoB not being configured, but I’m at work and just had my friend quickly send the links to my builds for me. Total investment has been around 1.5-2 mirrors so far. There’s definitely room for upgrades, specifically getting a reflected helical ring, which was my next plan, but I’ve just lost interest and the desire to play the league now that I have this build up and running. Don’t have any more goals to pursue, so my drive is dead lol. Could also make some better boots, but I only needed the int, tailwind, and onslaught on them, so those were just something I slapped together. Helmet could be more min-maxed, but I settled for t2 int after dropping over 100div on beast locks and not seeing t1 int. Could also get more min-maxy foulborn Hand of Thought and Motion claws, but I was just volatile vaal’ing them for fun to see if I could hit good rolls, and those two claws are what I settled on after doing around 45 attempts. This build was very fun to play, very tanky and crazy good clear for mapping, and has enough single target to do Ubers very easily. I did some testing with Uber Exarch and Uber Uber Elder. Exarch I could almost 1-phase, and Uber Uber Elder I could just stand still and spam LS to win, didn’t need to move at all thanks to leech. Just make sure you remove GMP when doing Ubers for better single-target damage, and stand a little bit away in order to get the double-hit with greater ancestral call.

To enter, just write in the replies which build you’d like to win and why you want it, and the two comments with the highest likes for my wardbreak and int/acc stacker respectively will be the winners! I’ll be selecting the winners in 8 hours (7PM EST)

Crashing on this patch

Game crashes with no error message within 20-60 seconds no matter what Proton version I try, on both DX12 and Vulkan. Tried purging shader cache, tried full system update, verifying game files, complete reinstall, different servers, nothing helps. This is the only game in my library crashing

Edit: Tried seeing if having my character in Highgate was better than Oriath docks, seems like it takes a bit longer to crash but still crashes eventually

Edit: Found out what it was, it was a font issue when people with uncommon special characters used global chat. Fixed now with https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/58#issuecomment-4040356176

What's everyone's wishes for the next PoE 1 league

With the announcement of 0.5 for PoE 2 and it being GGG's biggest update to date I'm curious what everyone's opinions are on the state of PoE 1 in Mirage league. Personally I've enjoyed the little I've played and reception seems positive. That being said we're halfway through the league and I find myself getting excited for the future of PoE 1 given all of overhauls done for the endgame of PoE 2. I am aware that given the reception of 0.4 for PoE 2 something had to change, but I'm hopeful PoE 1 might get some of that love too. What are y'all hoping for in the next league?

Guide to Defences - Part 2 - Juiced Maps

The Defence guide part 1 was aimed at getting builds to a point they could comfortably do T16s/most content with minimal deaths

This part attempts to identify what is required to go from pretty tanky to facetank (almost) everything territory.

Caveat - this is for general content. If you're doing specialised content, like deep delve or juiced expedition, you will need to apply your own knowledge

Also, ignoring all of this and killing everything from offscreen is a perfectly viable way to play. I just hate dying.

---

Multi-hit Defence

Getting shotgunned by a giant pack is an extremely common form of death, especially in juiced maps when there are 100s of mobs at any one time. Having protection against this will very noticeably cut down death frequency. Sadly, not that many good options for this. But luckily, once this problem is solved it generally remains solved no matter how juiced the content gets

Block/spell block are the gold standard, especially paired with a recover on block mechanic.
Defiance of Destiny is also extremely powerful for the builds that can run it.
Evasion and spell dodge both work but are generally worse than block/spell block
There are also niche build-specific mechanics, like perma ward that can fill this role.

---

Scaling Recovery/Ultra Recovery

Tied in with the above, having extremely high recovery (100% of your hit pool per second and up) helps mitigate a lot of death to attrition. The easiest way to achieve this for most builds is to have recovery that scales in-combat.

As above, recover on block or defiance of destiny are extremely good at covering this

Life gain on hit/es gain on hit/instant leech paired with a fast hitting skill is probably one of the easiest to obtain for most builds

Recoup is the next best generic option

Divine Shield and the ar/es mastery for 5% recovery over 1 second is great for the builds that can use it

Pathfinder life flasks, Juggernaut Untiring, Tainted Pact, perma ward are also alternatives

---

Max Hit

Once the above two are solved, the only real way to die to hits anymore is by getting one shot. Everyone will have their own max hit benchmarks. Here are mine (written phys/ele/chaos)

12/25/15 - this is out of pure glass cannon territory, but the build will still need to do easier content and be careful rolling maps/clicking altars to avoid too many dps mods

25/35/20 - these builds can generally do a 2-3 dps mods/altars fine. Past that risks one shots

35/50/25 - hard content (e.g. titanic blight) is possible but sketchy, with risk of random one shots

50/100/35 - hard content with a few dps mods is not sketchy. But once it gets to 5+ dps mods it is once again once shot territory

75/250/50 - this can safely do the hardest content and click all the dps mods

Generally, phys hits is most dangerous for super squishy characters. Ele hits are most dangerous for everyone else. Chaos is not super threatening unless you are not capped or are playing a super vulnerable build (and due to CI existing, GGG can't balance chaos to be super threatening).

---

Damage over Time

Lastly, DoT kills a lot of otherwise tanky builds that rely on block/spell block, or gain on hit for their recovery, particularly out-of-combat while looting. There's only really one great way to avoid that, and that is with high out-of-combat recovery. In my experience, 1k is good enough to ignore most common ground DoTs.

Overleech (Slayer, Petrified Blood)

Regeneration

Recoup loops

Pathfinder life flasks

Getting enough DoT mitigation/recovery to tank DoT attacks is much harder, and for most builds not worth. Easier to rely on in-combat recovery and just move out of the attack.

Never thought I'd be someone to lose a HC character to a reflect map...

Such a school boy mistake, and I was really enjoying this character (Evis. glad). One careless mistake is all it takes....

oh well, onto the next one.

I opened 402 Voices so you don't have to

On the screenshot you can see x391. In fact there are extra 11 that were already sold.

Bottom right are from valdo maps. They drop identified but for stats I will count them as regular

Results:

1p - x4 (1 from valdo)

3p - x7

All the rest are 5p and 7p

Total spent:

4300 divines. I was buying them for 10-12d. Can't tell the exact number.

Earned:

4x1p - 4x1220d = 4880d

7x3p - 7x145d = 1015d

Total 5895d-4300d = 1595d

Just in case those 63 voices from valdo maps were bought for 4-6d each which saves nearly a half.

As for now I have 2570d. What should I gamba? I don't vanna open valdo boxes because I opened around 4-5k already and I don't really do div cards because I always lose.

UPD. Sale history. I am underpricing and listing for 10-20d lower to sell faster,

THE ULTRATAMER - Mistress of ailments!

Here's the PowerPoint slide to begin with:

Text form explanation and further depth analysis:

The Taming gives increased elemental damage with hits and ailments for each type of elemental ailment on enemy. How do you make most of this?

Normally, you can inflict four types of elemental ailments on an enemy: Shocked, Ignited, Chilled and Frozen. There are however three alternative elemental ailments, namely Brittle, Scorched and Sapped, which are quite limited in accessibility:

1) You can get Sapped, Scorched or Brittle ground as an Eldritch mod on your rare boots, but that requires you to stand on top of your enemies, which is hardly practical. Animate Guardian can also use such boots, but its movements are significantly less predictable.

2) Legacy of Fury is a set of unique boots that makes all nearby enemies Scorched, which is nice, but still requires you to be "nearby" to the stuff you shoot. Animate Guardian can use these too, and tanky minion builds like BAMA love it. However, it's less zoom zoom because you can't then have Tailwind boots or Darkray Vectors if you decide to go that way.

3) Arkhon's Tools is a unique belt that adds a Scorching skitterbot, meaning you can apply chilled, shocked and scorched with them, if the enemy is near enough, at the cost of reserving 35% of your mana. However, then you can't use any actual belt and still only get one extra ailment.

4) Secrets of Suffering, which is comes small cluster jewel named The Interrogation that disables your normal ailments, but makes you apply all three alternative elemental ailments on a critical strike. That's garbage for this purpose, so it's out.

5) Unseen Hue is a unique ring that makes Prismatic skills apply Brittle, Scorched or Sapped, but you only get one and you have to use Prismatic Skills. What if you don't wanna? Trash.

6) Lastly, there's Replica Malachai's Artifice, a ring so nice that it has eight users in Mirage league according to PoE Ninja. Firstly, it will lower all your elemental resistances by 20% and then give you 75-100% cold resistance. The actually interesting part is makes the socketed gems have Secrets of Suffering, so if you socket an attack there, that attack cannot Shock, Chill or Ignite, but it does Brittle, Scorch and Sap on every critical hit. The effect is scaled from the damage that skill deals, meaning the best option is Elemental Hit of the Spectrum. The problem is that you get no supports for it because there's only one socket on the ring... Until now!

In Mirage league, you can get the gem imbued with Manaforged Arrows, which makes it shoot out automatically when you've used your main bow skill enough. Huzzah!

The best way to benefit from this is to get the Wildwood Bloodline Ascendancy that gives you an extra ring slot. Just put the dumb heist ring in the third slot and blast away! You can forego flasks if you were planning to use Screams of the Desiccated, like the Acceleration shrine. You could skip the amulet slot too, but with this setup, Yoke of Suffering makes enemies take up to 70% increased damage, which is pretty nice. Or if you get lucky with a Volatile Vaal Orb, up to 84% increased damage.

A Volatile Vaal Orb could also make your Taming go to 60% increased damage per each elemental ailment, so up to 840% increased damage if you apply everything and mirror the ring with Kalandra's Touch.

This is of course in addition to the inherent benefits of the alternative ailments: Brittle gives flat crit chance, sapped makes enemies deal less damage and scorched lowers their elemental resistances.

I feel like I haven't even exhausted all the possibilities with this interaction, but I will certainly be testing many things and hope this brings someone else joy too!
