🇪🇨 Strong Earthquake in Ecuador: Magnitude 5.5, Tremors Felt Across a Large Area

‼️ On January 31, 2025, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 struck the southeastern part of Ecuador. The epicenter was located just 78 km from Quito, in the Pichincha region, and had a shallow depth of only 10 km, which led to stronger tremors near the epicenter. Following this, two smaller seismic events with magnitudes of 5.0 and 4.3 occurred in the same region on February 1, 2025. These tremors were likely aftershocks of the main earthquake.
