🇲🇽 Incredible lightning over Cancun, Mexico, last night..

Interesting fact: hurricanes rarely produce lightning. When you see lightning during a hurricane, it indicates that the hurricane is intensifying, especially around the eye of the storm, where the atmospheric pressure and activity are at their highest.

🇲🇽 Two natural disasters—a powerful hurricane and earthquakes—posed serious threats to the population and infrastructure of Mexico on October 7, 2024.

On this day, Hurricane Milton, moving across the country, reached Category 5, bringing with it destructive winds of up to 260 km/h (160 mph). It is one of the strongest hurricanes recorded in the Gulf of Mexico in recent decades.

At the same time, two earthquakes were recorded in different parts of Mexico. The first, with a magnitude of 4.5, occurred in the Oaxaca region at a depth of 18 km, near the city of Tuxtla, intensifying the already difficult situation in the southern part of the country. The second earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.1, was registered in the state of Veracruz at a depth of 16 km, just 32 km from the city of Veracruz, which also caused concern among local residents.

These catastrophic events not only demand immediate assistance to those affected but also call for a deep assessment of the ongoing climate changes.
