‼️ In result of the new fissure eruption, a lava river has formed.

🔥 Streams of molten material are flowing west and south towards the ocean. Protective structures are currently preventing the lava from reaching the town of Grindavik.

🔈 Local media report that the famous Icelandic geothermal resort Blue Lagoon has been evacuated, along with Grindavik.

ℹ️ By now, over 300 residents of Grindavik have applied to sell their homes to the government.
