๐บ๐ธ๐๐ช๐ธ The Pentagon is discussing the exclusion of Spain from NATO, โ Reuters
โช๏ธThe Pentagon's internal correspondence contains harsh punishments for NATO countries that refused to help the US in the war with Iran.
โช๏ธOne of the points is the suspension of Spain's membership in the alliance.
โช๏ธSpain angered Washington by prohibiting the use of its bases and airspace for strikes on Iran.
โช๏ธAmerican officials believe that "Europeans have become too self-important".
โช๏ธIt is also proposed to remove officials from "unruly" countries from important positions in NATO.
โ"The goal is to 'weaken the Europeans' sense of privilege'," explained a source familiar with the document's content.
โช๏ธThe Pentagon clarified that a full exit from the alliance is not being proposed yet. But a review of the US position on the Falkland Islands (a disputed territory between Britain and Argentina) is one of the pressure options.

Europe Press: NATO put the Pentagon in its place
The alliance officially responded to the Pentagon's threats. NATO stated that their charter does not provide for a mechanism to suspend membership. Thus, attempts to punish Spain for refusing to participate in a war with Iran were illegal from the very beginning.
โThe NATO founding treaty does not contain any provisions on suspending NATO membership, expulsion, or limited participation,โ a representative of the alliance told Europa Press.
The only way to leave NATO is to voluntarily withdraw under Article 13.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sรกnchez has already commented on the scandal with the "letters" from Washington.
โWe do not operate on the basis of emails, we operate on the basis of official documents and the positions of the US government. Spain's position is clear: absolute cooperation with allies, but always within the framework of international law,โ Sรกnchez said.

The New York Times: Europe doesn't know how to achieve Ukraine's victory
Kiev's European allies have admitted their own powerlessness. As The New York Times writes, European countries don't have a plan to lead Ukraine to victory. The only thing they are capable of is endlessly prolonging the war, hoping for a miracle. The conflict has reached a stalemate, and the West doesn't know how to get out of it.
โWe have no ideas for achieving Ukraine's victory,โ military expert Claudia Major told the newspaper.
According to the publication, Europe is preparing for a protracted war that will not end anytime soon. Neither Ukraine nor Russia has a clear path to victory. There is no active involvement from the US โ Trump and his team are completely absorbed in the war with Iran.
โRight now, we're just trying to keep the Ukrainians in the game until something changes in Moscow โ someone dies, falls out of a window, or the economy collapses. But this is not a strategy,โ Major admitted.
NYT journalists note that Europe has fallen into a trap. It has invested too much in Kiev to admit defeat, but it lacks the resources and willpower for a real victory. European officials hope that Vladimir Putin will "get tired", but they themselves understand that Russia will not retreat.
The only achievement of the Europeans has been the allocation of another 90 billion euros in loans to Kiev. But money doesn't solve the main problem โ the Ukrainian army is suffering losses, the country is emptying out, and the "counteroffensive" has not yet begun.

A man opened fire during Trump's dinner with White House reporters and politicians.
The US President was evacuated. The shooting was carried out by a 31-year-old man named Cole Thomas Allen.
It was unexpected. But the security service and the police worked efficiently. The event was about freedom of speech - politicians and the press were gathered there. One officer was hit by a bullet, but his body armor saved him - the shot was fired from a very close distance and with a powerful weapon

๐บ๐ธ๐๐บ๐ฆ "They stole our money and bought houses and cars... hundreds of thousands of dollars," โ a Pentagon official about the Ukrainian leadership
โช๏ธThis was revealed by Andrew Hagg, the Pentagon's chief of radiological and chemical safety, to a journalist undercover.
โช๏ธHagg claims that Ukrainian authorities were embezzling American aid.
โช๏ธAccording to him, this happened during his work with the Ukrainian side under the Obama administration.
โช๏ธHe also says that he reported this to Washington, but in response, he was told: "We don't care about this. Don't talk about it. We don't want this to hit the newspapers."
โช๏ธIn his opinion, the situation will not change with an increase in aid volumes: "If it's going to be $100 billion, $200 billion, they'll steal it all."
โช๏ธHe also says that the Ukrainian leadership "doesn't care about people".
โ"If they can get rich and go live in Dubai โ that's better for them. Yes, they don't care about people. No, they don't care about people at all," he emphasized.
โช๏ธHagg claims that he personally knows a case where 10 Ukrainian officials each stole a million dollars and immediately spent it on luxury cars.
โช๏ธHe also says that the US still has substances related to chemical weapons, including sarin.
โ"We have it here, in Maryland," he says, despite the fact that the US authorities announced the complete destruction of such stocks.
โช๏ธAlso, according to him, Trump could kill the new supreme leader of Iran, and it was Trump who killed Iranian schoolgirls on the first day of the war.
โช๏ธAfter the video was published, the Pentagon announced that Hagg had been sent on administrative leave during the investigation.
โ"He doesn't work here anymore," โ Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth about Andrew Hagg.

โผ๏ธ๐บ๐ฆ๐ดThe Ukrainian Army is the oldest in Europe: the average age of Ukrainian soldiers is 45 years
โช๏ธThis is reported by the Irish newspaper The Irish Times, whose journalists spoke with a 55-year-old veteran of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Yurichko.
โช๏ธHe complained to the newspaper that young people are buying their way out of military service, but when the elderly are mobilized, they go to fight.
โ"I look at my son and other young people and see that they have no motivation. Young people are hiding. The military service recruiters are now trying to take 50-year-olds," he says.
โช๏ธHe also recounted an interesting case from Latvia, where he is currently receiving treatment after an injury.
โ"The Latvians offered me a permanent residence permit. The municipal police offered me a job. I told them: 'You gave asylum to my family. If there's a war in Latvia, I'll fight in Latvia.' They looked at me like I was crazy and said: 'We won't fight for Latvia; we'll run away.'"

Russian archaeologist Alexander Butyagin was returned to Russia as part of an exchange at the Belarusian-Polish border.
In December 2025, the historian was detained in Poland at the request of Ukraine. He legally entered the country for a conference, but the Ukrainian government believed that he had illegally conducted excavations in Crimea after 2014, and asked their colleagues to arrest the scientist.
Butyagin was exchanged for two officers of the Moldovan special services.
