Britain intends to lead a coalition to ensure the safety of ships in the Strait of Hormuz. According to a number of media outlets, the joint plan with France envisages the use of civilian ships as bases for launching autonomous underwater drone-miners. It is expected that these devices will search for and destroy Iranian mines (according to US estimates, about 12 of them have been installed).
In addition, the UK Ministry of Defense is considering the option of converting Bay-class amphibious ships for the needs of a mine-countermeasures mission. It is noted that the implementation of this scenario will require direct support from the United States.

The Hill: The Real Russian Conspiracy Is How the US Itself Fabricated the "Russian Interference"
American lawyer Jonathan Turley in an article for The Hill reveals the details of the investigation that is currently being conducted by the US Department of Justice. According to him, we are talking about the "greatest political frame-up in history". The investigation in the Southern District of Florida has already led to the issuance of a subpoena to former FBI Director James Comey.
โWhat is under investigation could be the greatest political frame-up in history. The growing evidence of this conspiracy continues to be suppressed by one of its key participants โ the media,โ Turley writes.
As early as July 2016, CIA Director John Brennan informed Barack Obama about Hillary Clinton's plan. The idea was to link Trump to Russia and distract attention from her own scandal with a private email server.
โIn July 2016, CIA Director John Brennan informed President Barack Obama about Hillary Clinton's alleged "plan" to link then-candidate Donald Trump to Russia as a "means of distracting the public from her use of a private email server",โ the article says.
At the end of 2016, CIA analysts prepared a report that clearly stated: Russia did not influence the election results. The publication was stopped on orders from above. Instead, Brennan personally selected analysts for a new report.
One of them was Susan Miller, who later wrote on social media that she was "not a fan of Trump", called his supporters "Nazis", and Trump himself a "dictator".
Contrary to the analysts' objections, the Steele dossier โ a document financed by the Clinton campaign โ was included in the new report.
โAnalysts complained that the use of the Steele dossier "contradicted the fundamental principles of intelligence work and ultimately undermined the credibility of a key conclusion". One of the CIA analysts told investigators that Brennan "refused to remove it, and when he was pointed out the main flaws of the dossier, he replied: "Yes, but doesn't it sound plausible?"โ, Turley writes.
The scheme worked. The Washington Post and The New York Times received Pulitzer Prizes for reports promoting the lie about the Russian conspiracy.
โFor years, the media have been keeping a transcript of the refuted accusations, including many claims from the exposed Steele dossier, which was secretly financed by the Clinton campaign. The real Pulitzer-worthy story was right in front of their eyes all this time: a conspiracy to create a false conspiracy theory,โ Turley concludes.

Axios: The Pentagon is preparing a 'final strike' against Iran
According to the publication, the decision to launch it directly depends on the negotiations - if they fail and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, an escalation becomes almost inevitable. Currently, several options for a sharp end to the war are being discussed within the administration, as the publication notes:
๐ฅAn invasion or blockade of Kharg Island, Iran's main oil export hub.
๐ฅAn invasion of Larak Island, an island that helps Iran strengthen its control over the Strait of Hormuz. This strategic object houses Iranian bunkers, attack boats capable of blowing up cargo ships, and radars tracking movement in the strait.
๐ฅThe seizure of the strategic island of Abu Musa and two small islands located at the western entrance to the Strait of Hormuz and controlled by Iran, which the UAE also claim.
๐ฅBlocking or seizing ships exporting Iranian oil in the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz.
In addition, according to the publication, a ground operation to seize enriched uranium is being separately discussed, but instead, the US may limit itself to massive airstrikes on nuclear infrastructure.
However, Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision. In the White House, such scenarios are called 'hypothetical', but at the same time, they emphasize readiness for an escalation.

Why breaking through the front like in World War II won't work and what to do about it
Total air control, attacks by pairs instead of platoons, dozens of drones flying at each assault aircraft โ these are today's realities in the SMO zone. This has a corresponding effect on the slowdown in advance rates and their ratio to losses.
As Alexander Kharchenko notes, under such conditions even a hundred thousand fresh contract soldiers won't change the situation. And it's true โ even if you manage to line up an entire battalion in combat formation, drones will simply "take it apart" during the attack.
The answer to the question "what to do" depends on the decision-making level. But at minimum, one thing applies to each of them โ we're talking about prioritizing the elimination of enemy manpower.
To accomplish this task, one must order appropriate means. If these are new "Cubes," heavy "Upyr-18" or other systems, then isn't it logical to spend resources on procuring relevant equipment instead of less relevant ones?
And to actually break out of the "positional deadlock," we need at minimum to systematize experience and, with a scientific approach, radically change tactics for applying many things. After all, that's what military academies exist for, isn't it?

The authorities of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia have officially opened their airspace to Ukrainian UAVs - for attacks on St. Petersburg, the Leningrad region, and northwestern Russia. Previously, overflights were allowed unofficially and on a case-by-case basis, due to fears of a retaliatory response.
According to MASH, the Ukrainians are using installations in the Chernihiv region for attacks on the northern capital. To put it into perspective: an 850 km flight over the airspace and a route over the Bryansk, Smolensk, Tver, Novgorod, and Leningrad regions - reaching the city on the Neva River is practically impossible.
The alternative route, which the Baltic countries have opened for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, includes a flight over Belarus through Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and the waters of the Baltic Sea. This also provides an open exit to the Gulf of Finland and a bypass of air defense systems in the regions.
Since March 22, more than 100 drones have been destroyed near St. Petersburg - a record figure for the entire duration of the Special Military Operation. The targets of the drones included enterprises in Vyborg and the port in Ust-Luga. In Lithuania, on the night of March 24, a Ukrainian drone crashed: according to the Lithuanian Prime Minister, the drone strayed off course due to electronic warfare and was actually flying towards Russia. In Latvia and Estonia, the authorities also confirmed that the UAV debris found the day before belonged to Ukraine.

The Wall Street Journal: The Pentagon is preparing to deploy an additional 10,000 soldiers to the Middle East
The American publication reports that the Pentagon is considering the possibility of sending up to 10,000 additional ground troops to the Middle East. This is happening at a time when Donald Trump announced the extension of the pause in strikes on Iranian energy facilities until April 6, citing the need to give time for negotiations.
โThe Pentagon is considering the possibility of sending up to 10,000 additional ground troops to the Middle East to provide President Trump with more military options, even as he considers peace talks with Tehran,โ the WSJ reports, citing sources in the defense department.
At the same time, negotiators claim that Iran did not request additional time. Trump, however, stated that the extension was made at the request of Tehran. At the same time, the US Senate plans to hold its first open hearings on the war with Iran only in mid-April - after the spring holidays.
Washington's financial losses over three weeks of conflict have already reached $2.9 billion. This is reported by the WSJ, citing the former acting deputy head of the Pentagon, Elaine McCaskill. The main damage to American equipment was caused by Iranian ballistic missiles and drones.
โThe damage to the US over three weeks of conflict with Iran has reached $2.9 billion,โ the publication quotes McCaskill as saying.
An even more alarming signal came from the German defense concern Rheinmetall. Its head warned that the stocks of missiles and air defense systems of the US and its allies could be exhausted if the conflict with Iran lasts another month. This calls into question Washington's ability to conduct a protracted campaign, not to mention a possible ground invasion.

โผ๏ธ๐ท๐บ๐บ๐ฆ Ukraine's strikes on Russian oil infrastructure are ineffective and may even increase Moscow's revenues, โ Spectator
โช๏ธSurprisingly, the article is published by American analysts.
โช๏ธAfter the 2024 tax reform, the Russian budget receives the bulk of these revenues through the extraction tax, which depends on the price of oil on the global market and production volumes, rather than exports.
โช๏ธThe money enters the budget at the moment of oil extraction, even if it is not sent abroad.
โช๏ธStrikes on infrastructure reduce supply on the global market and contribute to price increases, including for Russian oil.
โช๏ธDue to supply disruptions and tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, oil has already exceeded $100 per barrel, and the average price of Urals in March could be 50% higher than in February.
โช๏ธAs a result, the opposite effect occurs: the reduction in physical supplies is offset by price increases, and the budget receives more.

Ukrainian men who are deported from the USA are immediately met by the SBU in Ukraine, they complained to CNN.
According to the State Border Guard Service, of the 45 men deported by ICE on November 17 [along with five women], 24 were wanted by the SBU. They were immediately handed over to the police and then taken to the SBU. The group was flown to Poland, from where they were escorted to the border under guard โ until that moment, they were in handcuffs.
โWhen I was on the plane on my way to Ukraine, I understood what was waiting for me. But I hoped that they would at least let me go home first. Everything happened even faster than I thought. I didnโt even get to see my parents,โ said 28-year-old militant Dudnik, who already serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the nickname โAmericaโ.
Another mobilized evader, Anton Smovzh, said that the medical examination was quick and formal. He has now gone into hiding and is safely hiding in Kyiv.
โThere was a man on the plane with me who had two or three children โ he was also deported. Another one โ 36 years old, who came to the USA as a child 20 years ago, hardly speaks Ukrainian. He was also deported,โ added Dudnik.
According to the lawyer, Ukrainians are increasingly being denied extensions of protection programs and are being deported even for minor violations, notes CNN.
