Criminal Justice Reform for Those Democrats Think Deserve It - Democrats Are Profoundly Committed to Criminal Justice Reform -- For Everyone But Their Enemies (Glenn Greenwald Substack)

Principles of rehabilitative justice, reform of the carceral state, and liberalized criminal justice evaporate when Democrats demand harsh prison for their political adversaries.

Gonna blame the vaccine heart attacks on weed now.

I wonder how many 5-11 year olds are going to have been found to be closeted potheads in 6 months.

Oh, and good morning. https://t.co/x7rbSfndD0

Jes Staley exchanged 1,200 emails with Jeffrey Epstein over a four-year period with content that included unexplained terms such as “snow white," according to people familiar with the correspondence between the former Barclays chief executive and the convicted sex offender.

Staley resigned from Barclays last week after seeing preliminary conclusions of an investigation by UK regulators, which examined whether he had mischaracterised his relationship with Epstein as purely professional. He has said he will contest the findings.

Central to the probe was a cache of emails first provided to US regulators by JPMorgan, where Staley worked for more than 30 years in various roles including head of the private bank where Epstein was a client.

Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges that he sex-trafficked underage girls.

Neither the extent of the email traffic between the two men nor any of its content has been made public until now.

Many of the emails, sent between 2008 and 2012, were matter of fact — for example, discussing news articles or arranging to meet up for drinks — but showed a close relationship between the two men, according to the people familiar with the contents.

As i have theorized in the past about Manafort passing Trump polling data to Kilimnik which went to Derpaska and then to the CLinton campaign. Clinton is the only one who could have wanted that information. Well I think Trump passed misleading polling data to Clinton and thats why she never went out to the Midwest to campaign the last two weeks. That error on her part was said by her own campaign was her undoing in the election.

Who else remembers the Brooking Institution running to leak to the New York Times so they could whine about having had to surrender documents to Durham’s grand jury in February after having received a subpoena? At the time someone asked me “Why would Durham be interested in documents from Brookings on Danchenko from 2010? Shouldn’t he be focused on more recent stuff that’s not from 11 years ago?” When you remember that Danchenko was caught engaging in espionage activity while working for Brookings, was investigated by the FBI for it, fled the country, but then openly came back to work in DC again by 2016 while he’s right in the middle of the RussiaGate hoax? Why Durham is investigating that is kind of self-explanatory. Here’s the column I wrote at UncoverDC when the NYT’s ran it’s story about Brookings subpoena from Durham: https://uncoverdc.com/2021/04/21/how-worried-is-the-brookings-institute-about-the-subpoenaed-documents-it-just-gave-to-durham/
