The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) altered its definition of COVID-19 cases among the vaccinated, leading to a lower number of cases classified as a breakthrough, according to documents obtained by The Epoch Times.

In early 2021, the CDC defined post-vaccination cases as people who tested positive seven or more days after receipt of a primary vaccination series, according to one of the documents.

The definition was changed on Feb. 2, 2021, to include only cases detected at least 14 days after a primary series, another document shows.

"We have revised the case definition," Dr. Marc Fischer, head of the CDC's Vaccine Breakthrough Case Investigation Team, wrote to colleagues at the time.

Four suspects, including a North Texas teacher, were arrested last week in connection with child sex trafficking in Dallas, Texas, according to authorities.

Gershon Caston, 38, who most recently taught in Duncanville, Texas, was arrested on July 20. He is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, compelling prostitution of a person under 18, and child sex trafficking, Dallas County Jail records showed.

Biden has created a permanent office for pandemic response. Called the Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy, the new office within the executive branch replaces the Covid-19 response team that Biden ushered in during his first days in the White House.

This new office will ensure that the Biden administration can continue to implement so-called pandemic mitigation strategies for any new communicable disease that comes down the pike.

"This will be a permanent office in the Executive Office of the President (EOP)," the White House offers in a briefing, "charged with leading, coordinating, and implementing actions related to preparedness for, and response to, known and unknown biological threats or pathogens that could lead to a pandemic or to significant public health-related disruptions in the United States."

This office replaces those set up for both Covid and the oddly named Mpox, so called because its original name, Monkey Pox, was deemed to be racist by Democrats who believe that in some way "monkey" is racist against black people.

An LGBTQ-centric middle school is set to open in the state of Arizona to offer students an alternative education centered around LGBTQ+ history and curriculum.

The Queer Blended Learning Center will offer its students daily LGBTQ history lessons with a curriculum highlighting "different significant historical figures in the LGBTQ+ community," said Darla Baquedano, the director of education for Spark Community Schools. Students will also be offered basic math, science, and English through online courses, according to the outlet.

"Being able to raise their hands and ask their questions in a safe, affirming environment is going to be key to their mental health and educational advancement," Davenport said.

While participating in the health and wellness program called "Sex FYI," youth ages 14 to 17 will learn how to navigate relationships as a trans or non-binary person, STI 101 and safer sex 101, sexting/social media/internet safety, and intimacy without sex and sex readiness.

On the third Wednesday of every month, the nonprofit offers a trans and gender non-conforming wellness program that touches on gender-affirming health topics such as: pronouns support, hormones 101, gender-affirming surgeries 101, gender dysphoria tips and tools, and how to bind safely and tuck safely, according to the website.

Future quarantine camps?

The City of Phoenix, along with St. Vincent de Paul and Steel + Spark, installed an XWing modular shelter unit at the Washington Relief Shelter. The converted shipping containers provide a unique solution to offering more independent residents shelter in a more private setting.

As the extreme heat continues in Arizona, it has become vitally important to help protect those people who are homeless. Many of the local cities have created cooling stations that provide water stations and other necessary resources to those who are struggling in the heat, but the city of Phoenix has instituted a new plan this year to help those who reside in downtown Phoenix and do not have a safe place to get relief.

The city has pulled up one of their Phoenix buses and has parked it Phoenix buses in downtown Phoenix. The bus isn’t moving anywhere, but actually staying put as a means for the many homeless in the area to get on board and escape the heat.

The new director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday that her agency would likely come out with guidance in the fall that Americans should get an annual COVID-19 booster shot.

"We’re just on the precipice of that, so I don’t want to get ahead of where our scientists are here and doing that evaluation work, but yes we anticipate that COVID will become similar to flu shots, where it is going to be you get your annual flu shot, and you get your annual COVID shot," Dr. Mandy Cohen told Spectrum News.
