👮‍♂️ 🇫🇷 Paris police shoot and injure a knife-wielding man who tried to attack officers at Arc de Triomphe

The attacker targeted an officer securing the ceremony for relighting the eternal flame honoring unknown soldiers at the Napoleon-era landmark, according to a Paris police official. Another officer shot the attacker, who was hospitalized, the official said.

Behind the knife attack at the Arc de Triomphe was Brahim B., a radicalized individual who wanted to "shoot" soldiers.

Released from prison at the end of 2025 and under surveillance, the man suspected of attacking police officers with a knife this Friday evening in Paris had been convicted in Belgium for attempting to kill police officers. The DGSI (General Directorate for Internal Security) had warned of a risk of him acting out.

On June 8, 2012, he stabbed two police officers in Brussels, Belgium, to "punish," according to his statements at the time, the country for introducing a ban on wearing the burqa. Nearly fourteen years later, did Brahim B. once again attempt to kill law enforcement officers for an Islamist motive, two months after his release from prison?
