“The Office of the President reports that the National Government has declared the Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan chapters of the ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ as terrorist organizations.

Within the framework of the international commitments undertaken by the Argentine Republic in the fight against terrorism and its financing, and in compliance with current national regulations, the National Government ordered the inclusion of these chapters of the ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ in the Public Registry of Persons and Entities Linked to Acts of Terrorism and Their Financing (RePET).

The decision, promoted by President Javier G. Milei and adopted in coordination among the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Security, the Ministry of Justice, and the State Intelligence Secretariat, is based on official reports that attest to illicit activities of a transnational nature, including acts of terrorism, public calls for violent extremism, as well as links with other terrorist organizations and their potential impact on the Argentine Republic.

With this measure, mechanisms for the prevention, early detection, and punishment of terrorism and those who finance it are strengthened, so that members of the ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ and their allies cannot act freely. In addition, it allows for the reinforcement of international cooperation with other countries that have designated this group as a terrorist organization, such as the United States, Israel, Paraguay, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt itself, where this group was founded, among others.

The President of the Nation maintains an unbreakable commitment to recognizing terrorists for what they are, as he already did with Hamas and more recently with the Cartel of the Suns. This Government is convinced that Argentina must once again align itself with Western civilization, respectful of individual rights and its institutions, while condemning and fighting head-on those who seek to destroy it.
