โ€œShe has nothing to do with the social right, the prime minister abandoned social principles and chose the conservatives.โ€

"Auschwitz meant that six million Jews were killed, and thrown on the waste-heap of Europe, for what they were considered: money-Jews. Finance capital and the banks, the hard core of the system of imperialism and capitalism, had turned the hatred of men against money and exploitation, and against the Jews.... Antisemitism is really a hatred of capitalism."

Carl Schmittโ€™s Gospel of Power

Constantin von Hoffmeister argues that Carl Schmitt saw through the liberal hallucination, ripping the mask off democracy to reveal the raw fist of power โ€” whoever declares the exception, decides the enemy, and wields the sword writes the law, while the weak drown in their own illusions.

I hasten to point out that this reaction, although understandable, was not justifiable. First of all, because many of these Nazi-Maoists were just gentlemen trying to keep up with the fashion. But even those who sincerely hoped to create a new revolutionary front disappeared in the forest of red flags of their โ€œalliesโ€. Their uncertain thematics were sucked into Marxist jargon. They created doubts, from which only communism took advantage.

Enter illegally and demand compensation: apply now!

A shocking verdict with potential for devastating consequences: on March 7th, in what appears the latest act of the ever-ongoing fierce duel between the Italian government and the judiciary, the Corte di Cassazione, the highest court of appeal of the Italian judicial system, ruled that the government must compensate an illegal alien from Eritrea in the amount of 1600 euros. This ruling comes after the Eritrean immigrant had sued the Italian government on constitutional grounds for unlawful detention and deprivation of his personal liberty back in 2018, when, aboard the vessel Diciotti, he was denied disembarkation with other illegals for ten days by the Ministry of the Internal Affairs, at the time occupied by Matteo Salvini (a decision that cost him a trial, on the basis of the accusation of false imprisonment, from which he was recently acquitted but not definitely exculpated).

Besides the blatant contradiction between the two verdicts (on one hand the apparent legitimate conduct of the minister, but on the other still the acknowledgement of damage to the Eritrean man), the potential outcomes of such a reckless โ€“ if not utterly deranged โ€“ ruling must raise deep concerns, duly noticed by the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio, who stressed that โ€œin Africa perhaps millions of migrants are pushing (โ€ฆ) If we introduced the principle that these people have resources and financial compensation our finances would go to ruinโ€.

And, after all, the tragic irony is that, in this vulgar mockery of the law and of any form of right historically established by humanity, the judges may be right: the Italian Constitution, expression of the triumphant anti-fascist forces of the Second World War, guarantees any foreigner the same rights as a citizen, even when in flagrante delicto, as in the case of entering the country illegally, without regard for any superior matter of national security. These dangerously ambiguous principles often lead to extreme, and yet inherently constitutive, interpretations of the charter, which to the common sense can only sound demented. What it takes is just a few radical left-wing magistrates; and Italy is full of them.

Daria against the Degradation of the West

This book by Daria Dugina is dedicated to the New Right. Daria does not even try to hide her โ€œpartisanshipโ€ here. She does not merely retell or analyse the New Rightโ€™s views, nor does she simply share her historical knowledge about the origin and development of this European movement; rather, she actively promotes their ideas with which she is fully in solidarity. Her solidarity is not only because of her familyโ€™s tradition, which she openly refers to in her lectures, livestreams, and interviews reprinted here, but is based on her own philosophical, political, and aesthetic choice. Dasha was an exchange student from Moscow State University at the University of Bordeaux, where she engaged in studying Plato and Neoplatonism. At the same time, she deeply immersed herself in French politics, which she perceived and interpreted through the perspective of GRECE, the Research and Study Group for European Civilisation, which the French press christened the โ€œNew Rightโ€. Throughout her texts gathered here, Daria describes in detail just how imprecise such a determination was and is, as well as why it was applied to them. Nevertheless, it is important to emphasise that her academic references and historiographic excursions are tied together by her direct life experience, personal contacts, and, most importantly, her ideological kinship with this current in European political philosophy.

The New Right, their ideas, their history, their authorities, and their transformations have been treated in numerous volumes, the information contained in which is often more complete than the broad strokes with which Daria draws a picture of this intellectual phenomenon here. But it is all the more likely that no one other than Daria has so penetratingly, benevolently, and wholeheartedly attempted to present an integral image of the โ€œTheory of Europeโ€ that she recognised in the New Right, which she adopted and to which she swore an oath of allegiance. It is no coincidence that Daria said that if she hadnโ€™t been Russian, she would have been Frenchโ€”and not only French, but French of the New Right. In fact, this is how the French themselves saw her. They accepted her as a young passionary of their movement and listened attentively to her clear, almost perfect French, which was at the same time so permeated with Russian meanings that the very combination yielded an explosive effect. Dasha was a beloved favourite of the founders and leaders of the New Right movement, and she was always at the centre of attention, the heart and soul in the company of young French conservatives. She was so, completely independently of her father. Dasha believed in the New Right and was inspired by their views on the need for a great restoration of primordially European valuesโ€”classical, ancient, and medieval. The very expression โ€œTheory of Europeโ€ belongs to Daria Dugina.

Hundreds have been arrested in Turkiye for violating the temporary ban on protests that was imposed in response to the detainment of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu on allegations of corruption and ties with the terrorist-designated PKK. Some of his associates were also rounded up too. This came just before the opposition CHPโ€™s primary in which the party was expected to pick Imamoglu as its presidential candidate in the 2028 elections. The CHP therefore described this crackdown as a coup.

Although incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is technically ineligible to run again, he could still do so if early elections are called or the ruling AKP pushes through a constitutional amendment. Itโ€™s with these scenarios in mind that some suspect that the law enforcement action against Imamoglu is aimed at helping Erdogan secure yet another term. Regardless of the true motivation behind it and whatever might come next, this move at the very least makes it easier for the AKP to retain the presidency.

At the end of the last century, Latin America faced serious problems caused by the economic policies of neoliberalism, which led to the de facto dictatorship of transnational corporations and the World Bank in a number of countries. The consequences of this were terrible โ€” from mass poisoning due to the privatization of water supply and the collapse of strategic enterprises (with subsequent purchase dirt-cheap by external players) to a sharp jump in unemployment and mass riots.
