Traditionally, third-way ideologies have been associated with an economic program that rejects both the free market and the state economy. Instead, they entailed βa strong, organic, hierarchically organized corporatist state, with a leader at the topβ. Particularly during the Cold War the βThird Wayβ was a neutral economic and political position, opposing both American liberalism and Soviet socialism. Both the third way label and its positions have been popular among many ideological groups, including extreme right circles such as national revolutionaries and solidarists. However, some populist radical right parties have also flirted with it; the Belgian VB used to support a βsolidaristicβ model, the Greek Hellenism Party (KE) called for a democratic model where βthe economy is in the hands of the demos, i.e. the people,β the Italian MS-FT presents itself as βthe national-popular alternative to liberal-capitalism,β while the Polish LPR supports βnational solidarismβ

O Death, my confidant, whom I embrace,
A celestial grace for spirits that race.
Through shadows deep the weary tread,
In thy warm clasp, their fears are dead.
To conquer or succumb, paths diverge,
A thousand times better to purge.
"Long Live Death!" the nation roars,
In eternal glory, its spirit soars.
For martyrs crowned, the call resounds,
Through grand halls, where pride abounds.
Nation or death, with fervor declared,
In solemn tones where destiny is shared.

The time of the long punishment of the purge seems to have reached an end. The extreme right activists, with a revived and enthusiastic approach, will now launch an assault on the regime. β¦ This is the time of the resurrection of the Opposition Nationale.

As neo-fascist theorist Maurice Bardeche has rightly emphasized, fascism is the "party of the angry nation" which can only reach its full potential in periods of acute crisis. In that sense, it is no different than any other revolutionary movement whose appeals tend to fall on deaf ears when conditions are relatively stable and prosperous.

Pierre Drieu La Rochelle, who left this world in 1945, remains an immortal figure in French π«π· literature and revolutionary thought.
His writings burn with the anguish of a fading civilization, mourning Franceβs π«π· decline under the weight of decadence, liberalism, and communism. Yet his vision was one of defianceβa call to awaken a slumbering nation before it was lost.
More than a writer, Drieu was a warrior of the spirit, seeing in fascism not just an ideology but a force for renewal. He believed only strength, unity, and sacrifice could restore Franceβs greatness. Rejecting compromise, he embraced the struggle to reclaim the nationβs soul.
A visionary, a fighter, a voice that will not be silencedβDrieuβs legacy endures as a testament to identity, strength, and the eternal will of a people who refuse to surrender.
