Every time you sigh and complain about having to cook dinner, you are not just venting.
You are teaching your child that providing for a family is a miserable burden, not a noble duty.
The loud sigh as you start chopping vegetables.
The complaint about how tired you are.
The bitter tone you use when you call everyone to the table.
Here's the uncomfortable truth:
You are not just cooking food. You are cooking a negative atmosphere into the heart of your home.
They don't just taste the meal; they taste your resentment.
They learn that family is work. That service is a sacrifice to be complained about.
They learn that love looks, and sounds, a lot like exhaustion.
The parent who performs their duties with quiet dignity, even when tired, teaches a different lesson.
They teach that duty can be a form of love, and that service can be a source of strength.
Your attitude is the seasoning for every action you take.
Do not poison the meal of family life with the bitter taste of your own reluctance.

Annunciation Catholic Church shooting victim Sophia Forchas welcomed back by her classmates after making a "miraculous" recovery.
Forchas' family says Sophia was saved by "the mercy and intervention of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Doctors were shocked by her recovery, as noted by CBS News, considering Sophia was not expected to survive.
The 12-year-old girl was shot in the head and placed in a medically induced coma. The left side of her skull was removed to help with brain swelling.
"It is by God's will that she has come this far. We are eternally grateful to our loving Father, who hears and answers prayers," her family said.
"We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the extraordinary staff of Hennepin Healthcare at HCMC for their tireless dedication and world-class care."
"To our extended family, the Orthodox Church, our Annunciation school family, our friends and colleagues, and the many strangers who have become prayer warriors for Sophia; we thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
Praise God.
