💉 🇲🇽 🇺🇸 How a massacre in a small California town named Goshen shocked the country
Rural parts of the San Joaquin Valley have become some of the most violent places in California, with a bustling drug trade and among the highest rates of murder and lowest rates of solving murders.
According to a report last year from California Atty. Gen. Rob Bonta, Kern County had the highest homicide rate in the state in 2021, with 13.7 killings per 100,000 people. Merced County came in second, at 9.5, followed by Tulare, where the massacre happened Monday, at 8.8. The homicide rate statewide was 6. In Marin County, it was 0.4.
Little-known rural enclaves such as Goshen — which many Californians glimpse from the window of car speeding between Los Angeles and Yosemite or Sacramento or Lake Tahoe — have become coveted transit points for methamphetamine, fentanyl and other drugs. Layers of criminal organizations including Mexican cartels, prison syndicates and local street gangs all vie for a piece of the real estate.

🇷🇴☦️🇭🇺✝️❌🏳️🌈 The LGBT Pride March which was supposed to take place in the city of Oradea was cancelled after local orthodox, catholic and protestant parishes organised public activities in every square of the city everyday for the duration of August.
Oradea was the host of the "Oradea Pride" week held between 7 and 13th of August and besides their usual LGBT themed workshops, the LGBT activists planned the first LGBT march in Oradea's history, march which no longer can take place.
LGBT activists are unhappy after the Orthodox, Roman-Catholic, Greek-Catholic, Reformed, Pentecostal, Baptist and Lutheran bishops in the city signed a joint appeal to the citizens of Oradea to "confess the truth" and prevent the parade from happening.

📝SIDENOTE: This is huge because it underscores a major aspect of the instability within the Somalian government.
First and foremost we have to take into consideration Al-Shabab and their role in this. Al-Shabab has weakened the Somalian government and has brought it to the brink of a civil war due to the territory it controls and the campaigns that it engages in.
Secondly, the IS has used this instability to garner sympathizers within the mountainous regions of Somalia and used it as a new base of operations after claiming the Bari Mountains. But what’s truly remarkable is that Al-Shabab hasn’t launched an attack on the capital, in the capital, or promoted lone wolf attacks against military personell in Mogadishu. Yet the IS has managed to hit the capital of Somalia. This shows that the ambition of the Somalian Wilayah still is there and it’s seeking ultimate victory.
Lastly this underscores a fundamental point, the Somalian Wilayah is growing and recruiting more people. If they didn’t have the manpower then they wouldn’t have dared to send any militants to attack the capital of the country, where it’s more likely they’d get lynched or shot.
