FINAL WRAP-UP & 1 INSIGHT
WHAT HAPPENED?
1 week ago I organised an offline storytelling night where speakers from 6 countries delivered their stories of personal and professional change in Pecha Kucha 20x20 format. Speakers - entrepreneurs & bloggers - shared their stories of change over 20 slides, under 20 seconds each. The speakers are from the USA, Greece, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, China, and Vietnam.
Speakers noted that the time constraint helped them to stick to the main story arc and keep engaging the audience.
You can watch their stories in my YouTube channel.
1 INSIGHT
Last week in this post I asked you: "Who's a good speaker? How can you tell one?"
Gleb Godunov and I talked this over in a Pitch Up club's meeting. As we were discussing what really makes a good speaker, we got rid of quite a few initial hunches: a smart person, charismatic, has good knowledge on the subject... All of that helps, of course, but doesn't guarantee your being a good speaker.
We reached a conclusion: a good speaker is a person who is...
𫧠easy to follow AND/OR
𫧠entertaining
People love either having fun or digesting info easily. If you help them with at least 1 point - you're a good speaker. Or, you may be smart, knowledgeable, have a great accent, grammar, and vocabulary, but - alas, reach neither of these goals.
