🐁 What about all the hats? Brainrot visual to grab attention or...?

"To wear multiple hats" = to take on different roles or responsibilities, often at the same time. It means you're handling many tasks or functions that are normally assigned to different people

Other ways of using it:
🫧Let me put on my [strategist] hat
🫧Take off that [boss] hat, we're chilling!

Similar Expressions:
🫧Juggling many roles
🫧Being a multitasker
🫧Jack of all trades

🌈 LinkedIn VS Transgenders

On July, 29th, LinkedIn changed their Transgender Protection policy quietly, without making announcements. After the change, "deadnaming" and "misgendering" will no longer be flagged as harassment on LinkedIn

This didn't go unnoticed among Woke culture (Ultra Progressive) activists though. They're pushing back and may get their way

After living on 4 continents and in 9 countries, @ybeymlina understands this is not just "Internet talk." This is a reflection of who gets hired and how cushy jobs get re-assigned

To read the room like a boss, S2S users learn 12 Woke Phrases and learn to discuss the topic with respect while staying true to themselves

🌈 Your Woke Teaser: 3 phrases on race & ethnicity

🫧BIPOC – Black, Indigenous (historically local, e.g. American Indians), and People of Color; emphasizes specific racialized groups
🫧Microaggression – Subtle, often unintentional discriminatory comment or action
🫧Cultural appropriation – Adoption of elements of a culture by outsiders, often without respect or context (eg. wearing braids or African dresses by a white woman)

πŸ’… 4 English Corporate Idioms Visualised under 20 Seconds

@ybeymlina spent a year in the US on a Fulbright scholarship and witnessed it firsthand: idioms're everywhere. And especially in US business talk, more than in the UK, Australia, or non-English-speaking countries. Business meetings, emails, and even job descriptions are full of them

Why do companies use them?
To sound casual & confident – Idioms make speech faster and more "friendly"
To create group identity – If you understand them, you "fit in"

The problem is international teams get lost. Non-native speakers often:
❌ Misunderstand idioms literally ("Why are we boiling the ocean?!")
❌ Feel left out in fast conversations
❌ Waste time Googling phrases instead of focusing on work

We fix this problem so you don't get lost, stand out, and fit in

The Corporate Figurative Meaning of 4 Literal Phrases

🫧Throw spaghetti on the wall, see what sticks – Try many ideas and see what works

🫧Pie chart vs. bar graph

πŸ₯§ Pie chart – Circle, Shows parts of a whole (like slices of a pie)
πŸ“Š Bar graph – Compares different amounts using bars

🫧Drop the ball – Make a mistake or fail to do something

🫧Address the elephant in the room – Talk about an obvious problem everyone ignores

🎧 Watch with sound on to blend in with your international team from day 1

🧸 AI can end conversation now if you're toxic to protect itself

Don't know about you guys, @ybeymlina spends about 30min per day on average chatting with AI on personal and professional topics combined. Sometimes 0 min, sometimes up to 3 hours. She prefers her conversations to be short and to the point, and hates when AI shows signs of sycophancy*.
Check the images to learn new vocab β€” we'll quiz you on Saturday, you know it ;)

β€œOpen AI” and β€œAnthropic” disagree! Both of them put a premium on the emotional bond developing between their AI models and users. However, for different reasons...

β€œOpen AI”'s making an effort to make the GPT experience feel friendly for users. Meanwhile, β€œAnthropic”'s enabling Claude to protect itself against abusive users and will end chats in extreme cases to protect the model, not the user. They say they're mitigating risks "just in case"

The good news is that with us you're mastering communication skills in English to communicate with anyone, even Claude 😎
