Canon Bugs in Ballot Scanners

Turns out, Canon CapturePerfect ain’t so perfect. This software is included on the Canon built scanners included in some election machine systems. Specifically, the DR-G1130 Production Document Scanner included in ICC. It is referenced in this ECO.

“Within CapturePerfect 3.1, there are editing functions such as 'Delete Page', 'Insert/Add Pages' and 'Replace Page', in addition to the basic functions of capturing images. It has come to our attention that in certain instances, when such editing functions are used following creation of the file, CapturePerfect 3.1 may delete the file.”

Wait, what? Delete a ballot you mean?

So, you can edit, replace and delete pages with Capture Perfect? Why does that software even exist on an election machine scanner? How could that be certified? Are we simply supposed to trust that it is never used?

Elected officials, are you are aware of this bug and the need to patch it? Do you know Capture Perfect permits deletion of images?

Election Machine Scanners – Part 2

EAC EOC DVS-100543 added a Canon DR-G1130 scanner to the ICC. This scanner has interesting features like text enhancement, character emphasis, count only mode, pre-scan, skip blank page to name a few.

It also comes pre-loaded with Kofax VRS as well as Canon CapturePerfect. (In my previous post, I addressed CapturePerfect.)

Kofax VRS is another software product therefore it has release notes with it’s own set of bugs.

The point is that…. promising to not use “features” is not the same as ensuring that they are never used. How do you ensure that pages on a scan are never replaced or enhanced in a way that invalidates voter intent?

I also learned that the elections department is under NDA with the FBI and Homeland Security preventing them from disclosing any details about our voting machines to keep them safe from hackers.

You know what else keeps elections safe from hackers?

Not using machines that can be hacked

Kurt Olsen says it was a good day in AZ court today fighting against voting machines. The judge has taken the case under advisement & ordered additional items to be filed in no later than one week 🇺🇸

Olsen says they presented an incredibly strong case:
- One expert testified that he broke into the voting machines hundreds of times, often in as few as 2 minutes.
- Testimony that Maricopa's systems were out of compliance & not certifiable.
- Unrebutted testimony that there is manipulation of the votes.

All night patriot tailgate parties for EVERY DROP BOX IN AMERICA

Maybe a future Captain K pow-wow in Arizona, come October early voting?

Contact your sheriffs office and ask them to place cameras 🎥 at all drop box locations to record 24 hours and ensure that the video is kept and maintained for the full duration of time that the law requires of all records in elections. This will allow anyone who would want to FOIA request the video can do so and if they Sherriffs office would need to investigate they would have the video to do so. Also have them install lighting and ensure that the camera is in a position so that you can clearly see both the person at the box and the parking lot. This should be done at all locations that you have these drop boxes in your state. 😉 Virgil Riddle, Virginia

My 2 cents: Cameras can be blocked or removed. If drop boxes are to be allowed, there should only be 2 or 3 in very public locations and guarded by Deputies. These drop boxes should also be locked between the hours of 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and the contents removed so that any ballots that magically appear when the boxes are locked and unguarded, can be disqualified.

Joseph Stalin, the former communist dictator of the Soviet Union, was once famously quoted as saying this: “Those who vote decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything.”

There is some debate about whether that quote was really from Stalin or from someone else in the Communist Party, but regardless, that appeared to be the general sentiment regarding elections within communist Russia.

And you know what, it appears that there are people in America who are taking this advice to heart—specifically, by working overtime not to influence who people vote for, but rather, how the underlying election system actually operates.

Referring to “why does it matter”about Brandtjen signing onto a decertification resolution.

Here is why: since no such mechanism *legally* exists, the requisite number of signatures (not sure how many) would establish a new precedent and set a serious standard that, given the WI Supreme Court’s ruling on the illegality of the drop boxes (ie, the election was illegal), just may stand up.

History is full of things that were without precedent. There was no precedent for leaving the crown, but the colonies did. They faced a stiff challenge to that and prevailed.

To break this deadlock, things without precedent must occur, be challenged, and God willing, be recognized.
