Suspect arrested as controlled explosion rocks Buckingham Palace four days before Charles is crowned had been seen outside previously ranting ‘I’m going to kill the King’ – but police still insist it is NOT being treated as terror

A man was being held this morning by police on suspicion of possessing a weapon after 'throwing shotgun cartridges' into the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

Met Police detained him at around 7pm today after he approached the gates of the palace in central London as Coronation rehearsals took place.

Witnesses said the man was seen throwing a 'number of items' in the residence grounds before he was arrested.

White House Report Proposes 30% Crypto Mining Tax - May 4, 2023

A proposed 30% excise tax on cryptocurrency mining firms was the focus of a report released by the White House on Tuesday, in which the administration reiterated its stance that pinching miners’ profits is in the best interest of American communities and the environment.

“Firms do not have to pay for the full cost they impose on others,” the report states, adding that the proposed tax “encourages firms to start taking better account of the harms they impose on society.”

A coalition of major media companies today filed another objection to a federal judge’s decision to keep the names of FTX creditors private.

In a Wednesday filing, the New York Times, Dow Jones, Bloomberg, and the Financial Times said there was no legal basis for withholding the names of the people that are owed money by the failed exchange.

FTX went bankrupt last year in a highly-publicized collapse. The top 50 creditors are owed an estimated $3.1 billion and have repeatedly told the court that they want their names kept secret.

OpenSea Exec Convicted: Fraud, Laundering Insider Trading

Nate Chastain, the former head of product at non-fungible token (NFT) platform OpenSea, was convicted of money laundering and wire fraud in a federal court in New York on Wednesday, according to report from Reuters.
Forced to resign from his role in Sept. 2021 after allegations of insider trading spread across social media. Chastain was accused of abusing his position – which included selecting NFTs to feature on OpenSea’s homepage – to illegally profit.
Made more than $50k from Jun 2021 to Sept 2021 by buying NFTs he knew would be featured on the company’s website on the cheap, then selling them at inflated prices after the increased attention caused prices to jump, prosecutors alleged. Chastain attempted to conceal his purchases by using anonymous wallets and OpenSea accounts.

22 Million Brits Pledge To Skip Coronation - Survey

King Charles has been dealt a huge blow with millions pledging to skip the Coronation. According to a YouGov survey, 21.8 million may be planning to avoid the festivities on the big day. The survey found 41 percent of the thousands of adults in Britain quizzed about their plans this weekend said they will not be celebrating the Coronation.

A large group of Britons, 21 percent, are yet to decide what they’re doing.

Meanwhile, only 39 percent of adults have plans to celebrate the King's Coronation, according to the survey, commissioned by the customer experience marketing agency Gekko.
