Cuba's Communist Government Cancelled Monday's May Day parade because of fuel shortages.

Each year 100s of 1000s of people are bussed in from across the island to fill Havana's Revolution Square on Int'l Workers' Day.

1st time since the 1959 revolution that celebrations have been cancelled for economic reasons.

Recent weeks long queues formed at petrol stations, drivers often waiting for days.

Pres. Miguel Diaz-Canel said Cuba was only receiving 2/3 of fuel it needs, adding suppliers failing to fulfil contractual obligations.

Cuba has access to low-grade crude, US-sanctioned island lacks facilities to process it.

Deliveries of higher quality crude from Venezuela, Cuba's largest provider, have dropped 50%, recent years.

Venezuela is experiencing severe problems itself and finds it increasingly difficult to subsidise its socialist ally.

Typical monthly salary $150-200 (£120-160), a litre of cooking oil costs $30.

In early medieval times, Scottish kings had been crowned upon this stone at Scone (pronounced skoon) nr. modern Perth until 1296, when English king Edward I took it to London—thereafter to be seat of the kings of England. UK Commonwealth Peoples Being Asked To Swear Allegiance To King Charles!!!

The Archbishop of Canterbury has asked people all across the Commonwealth to pledge an oath of allegiance to King Charles III during his Coronation, as part of a new addition to the ceremony.

The bishop will lead a pledge called the 'Homage of The People' which calls on citizens from the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland and other Commonwealth territories to swear their allegiance to 'their undoubted King.'

The public will be asked to recite the following: "I swear that I will pay true allegiance to your majesty, and to your heirs and successors according to law. So help me god."

Duchess of Buccleuch & Queensberry has died, 68, after a short spell in hospital. Lady Elizabeth Kerr passed away on Sun. after becoming ill following an op.

Lady Kerr, survived by her husband, 4 children, 11 grandchildren. The Duke of Buccleuch has a major role in King Charles's Coronation on Sat., carrying the Sceptre with Cross at Westminster Abbey and presenting it to the monarch. The King has sent his condolences privately.
