Using both open and proprietary data, we’ve visualized and reconstructed the chronology of today’s missile strike on Ukraine. All times in UTC:

– 20:20 UTC – Radio communications begin between two Tu-95MS bombers from Olenya.
– 21:40 UTC – Two Tu-160s spotted in western Russia, heading west.
– 23:00 UTC – Tu-160s enter Caspian Sea airspace.
– N/A – Likely Kh-101 missile launch by Tu-160s (per Ukrainian Air Force).
– 23:30 UTC – Tu-95MS pair performs missile launch maneuver.
– 00:20 UTC – Three more Tu-95MSes identified over Saratov Oblast after takeoff from Engels-2.
– 01:00 UTC – Five Tu-95MSes circling Engels-2, likely unable to land due to Ukrainian strike on Engels.
– 04:00 UTC – Two Tu-95MSes and two Tu-160s land at Engels-2.
– N/A – Remaining three Tu-95MSes land later.

Now there are 8 Tu-95MSes at Engels-2 airbase. We have reason to suspect that they'll be loaded with missiles there for strike.
