In front of the main entrance there is a small garden with a fountain. Vasil Gabashvili's descendants still live in the house, which in Soviet times even managed to be a communal apartment. This is a traditional ancient tradition of celebrating Christmas in Georgia. In the morning, the Christmas service turns into something resembling a carnival procession. Here this event is called "Alilo" - from the word "Hallelujah", that is, the praise of God. This is the beautiful parade in honor of the birth of the baby Jesus, in which the whole city participates. People go in elegant clothes and carol costumes. Participants sing, dance, play musical instruments.
Anyone can join the "Alilo" festive procession. During the procession, donations are collected, which are then distributed to orphanages, nursing homes and correctional facilities. For two years, due to the pandemic, it was not held, and in 2023 a massive and beautiful procession is expected.
ℹ️ "Alilo" will start at 12-00 from the First Republic Square. Due to the procession, the center of Tbilisi (including Rustaveli Avenue and the road to Avlabari Square) will be blocked for traffic.

The Center for Coordination of Emergency Situations and Urgent Care reported that in the period from 31.12 to 03.01 24 people injured from pyrotechnics and 128 patients with intoxication were hospitalized. In total, 39 victims of pyrotechnics applied for emergency medical assistance during the New Year holidays, and 500 cases of food and alcohol intoxication were recorded.
