"Any banking transactions that are directly or indirectly related to Iran or goods of Iranian origin, in the context of full-scale US sanctions against Iran, may be considered a violation of international sanctions," the regulator said in a statement.
The National Bank instructed all banks to carry out enhanced preventive measures against persons associated with Iran and stop transactions in case of a risk of violating sanctions.
It is worth adding that there are quite a lot of Iranian citizens living in Georgia and doing business.
