👮🏻‍♂️ The court in Telavi has sentenced a citizen accused of murdering a married couple in front of their child to life imprisonment.

The events took place in February, when the employee of one of the livestock farms in the village of Kondoli (10 km from Telavi) found out that the family couple received 20 thousand dollars for the sale of their land plot. He broke into their house, demanding money and killed them. Further, he had beaten the 16-year-old daughter of the victims, also demanding to tell where the funds were. The criminal have fled, but was detained by the police a few days later.

🥩🥒 Household issues in Tbilisi on a personal example. Part 1 - food.

I was rightly noted in the comments that I do not talk much about my personal experience of living in Georgia, although I have been living here for almost four years. I will try to fix it.

Over these years, almost everything has increased in price: from food to property rentals. Only cars, i think, remain 30-50% cheaper compared to Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan. In all other spheres Tbilisi and Batumi have ceased to be inexpensive cities to live in, as they were before 2019.

ℹ️ Today I will talk about food. We do not evaluate monthly expenses, but sometimes we refrain from buying expensive goods (for example, today the price of red fish 44 lari per 0.5 kg seemed coastly for me). For everything in the photo we paid today in Goodwill 513 lari ($187; 11,600 rubles; 6,900 hryvnia; 86,000 tenge). I think that Goodwill is a store with an optimal price-quality ratio. There are not only food, there is washing powder, toothpaste, earth for flowers and a battery.

📍 since 2019 almost everything has increased in price compared to today: Turkish coffee was 3.30₾ and became 6.30₾, almond milk was 6.95₾ and now it's 11.95₾, sunflower oil cost about 5₾, and today it is already 10-11₾

🏡 Household issues in Tbilisi on a personal example. Part 2 - housing rent and utility bills.

We have been renting a three-room apartment of 90 sq.m. for more than a year and a half. It is located in the center of Tbilisi, and our hosts are very friendly (only last month they raised the price from $600 to $800 a month). Property similar to ours is now rented for $1200-1500. Before that, for a year and a half, we lived in the Saburtalo district in a large two-room apartment for $450 a month, but there are no such prices in Tbilisi anymore. Now renting a one-room apartment for a month in Tbilisi costs $300-600, a two-room apartment $600-1000, a three-room apartment $800-2000. Prices in Batumi are slightly lower in winter, but during the tourist season they are the same as in the capital.
🔌💡 We have gas heating and because of a small child we use it a lot and often. In October we paid 83 lari ($30) for gas and 43 lari ($16) for electricity. In summer, we paid 15-30 GEL per month for gas and electricity. We need the Internet for work, so we use the speed of 100 Mb and pay 126 GEL. And it's hard to find alternatives here, this is the maximum internet speed for the capital. Water supply, garbage disposal and cleaning of the entrance are paid by the owners themselves.
