Update from Trisha about my grand Amara! 💖 ✨ 🙂 😇
It feels like we finally got some really encouraging news today.
Amara’s ANC is 860 today, which is such a huge answer to prayer. As of this morning, the doctors said they were waiting to see what her CMV levels came back at, and then they planned to consult with infectious disease to decide where we go from here.
About an hour ago, I was scrolling through her portal and saw that the results had already come back. Her initial CMV level on the 22nd was 342,000. Today, her level is 25,000.
So as you can see, that number has dropped quite a bit. I did the math, and on average her body has been dropping about 45,285 per day, which is honestly incredible when you really think about it. And now that her immune system is finally up and running again, it is helping her immensely.
As soon as I saw the results, I pulled a doctor in to talk about them. She told me she was sending a message to infectious disease tonight to make sure that the level is low enough for them to feel comfortable letting us go home — whether that means going home on the IV meds or switching to oral meds. She said she is hopeful that she will be able to sign discharge papers tomorrow and get us out of here.
They also restarted Amara’s oral chemo today, finally, since it has been almost a month since she has had any at all.
I also made sure to ask this morning whether everything going on has changed her roadmaps or treatment timeline at all, and they said that everything will look exactly the same as it would have if we had stayed at Children’s. That was extremely comforting news to hear.
Amara is still in good spirits overall, with the occasional outburst — but honestly, who could blame her at this point?
We are feeling very hopeful tonight. Please keep praying that infectious disease agrees that her levels have dropped enough, and that tomorrow is finally the day we get to take our girl home. ❤️

I know I’ve been very quiet and not present due to family health issues..I’m slowly coming around! Just need to get our girl Amara home and her momma to have her baby boy. It’s been a long couple of weeks! BUT GOD😇
My apologies for being absent, not speaking much..I’ve chosen the path of being still, quiet and staying in prayer for my family😇
Our movement means everything to me! My fight for the children and our world is still with me, I haven’t lost any of it! Sometimes we have to take a step back an focus on what truly matters in all this.
Yahweh is so so good! He answered all of our prayers for my grand Amara and her momma!

My apologies for not posting but Baby Buckley decided to arrive on Saturday April 4th @ 11:44PM..

I had an entire delivery plan in place, but pretty much all of it ended up being scrapped as things changed quickly and we chose the safest options for both baby and me.
Buckley is just as handsome and as sweet as can possibly be. He is such a calm, quiet little thing already. Unfortunately, he has been admitted to the NICU while they run tests to figure out what is going on. I attempted to breastfeed him three separate times, and each time he turned blue and his oxygen levels dropped significantly. The doctors are monitoring him closely and have assured me multiple times that he is stable.
One small bright spot today — my very first pump produced 30 mL, which made the nurses really excited. I’m so thankful my body is already able to give him something while we work through what’s going on.
Amara is absolutely over the moon about her little brother. She was the very first person to hold him (besides me), the first to give him a binky, and the first to wrap him up in his little blankies. Watching her step into her role as big sister so naturally has been one of the most incredible moments.
Mommy is okay… emotionally a bit of a mess, but physically doing alright. Hearing that Buckley is stable helps, but watching another one of my babies hooked up to machines and medical equipment has been extremely triggering. It brings back so many emotions that are hard to put into words.
We would truly appreciate all the prayers, love, and positive thoughts for Buckley and our family right now. 💙
He is already so deeply loved
