While development work is ongoing, the community is growing with initiatives like the DeXe Social Activity Party and informational conversations like the one with Deepa of ImpactDAOs.

📌Check out this member-submitted proposal on updated legal strategy.

Check out DeXe thought pieces on DAO Money Heist, where savvy criminal operators manipulate DAO governance to enrich themselves. And about Nonsensical DAOs, whose voting and proposal behavior does not seem to serve any actual governance purposes.

Did you hear about a hacker stealing governance and treasury funds from the Tornado Cash DAO? On the other hand, in Passion DAOs, a strong belief in a cause drives useful and beneficial member behavior.

📖Twitter space recap

A few days ago, our DeXe DAO Talks had an interesting discussion with a crypto-native attorney, Irina Heaver, and Taras Zharun — our community member who submitted a proposal in our governance forum about legal strategies for the DeXe DAO.

📌In answering community questions, Taras explained why he saw the need for such a proposal, what legal issues he was anticipating, how the legal entity would be governed, why Switzerland, and more.

Irina shared some of her extensive knowledge on the legal issues facing DAOs, including the benefits of having a legal wrapper, why choosing a jurisdiction matters, how a legal entity protects the DAO, why Switzerland moved away from Foundations and towards Associations, and much more.

The discussion was truly eye-opening for understanding the interaction between a DAO's on-chain and off-chain governance. Check out the full recap 👉 here

💬The proposal is still live in our governance forum

💡«One token - one vote». This system quickly became dominant in the DAO because of its simplicity and clarity. However, it hides enormous problems. The main one is plutocracy.

Are you in a DAO without knowing it? A case study.

📍We normally think of DAOs as blockchain-based organizations with a governance token, on/offchain voting, a treasury, etc. But there are currently millions of groups around the world organized essentially as a DAO without even suspecting it. In fact, you may already be a member of a few.

Have you ever been part of a secret Telegram chat group where trading alpha is discussed? Such groups act a lot like a DAO in how they handle membership, governance, treasury management and more.

They could also benefit from formally becoming a DAO.

📖 How? Find out all the details of how these groups are DAO-like and how they could be DAOing better in the full article 👉 here

Is the United Nations a DAO in disguise?

📌People usually talk about DAOs as principally new ways to organize, which is certainly true in technical implementation. But in practical terms, DAOs exist all around us in one way or another. We recently explored how various chat groups are de facto DAOs. But what about a massive organization that everybody knows? Is the United Nations itself a DAO? Considering it may be about to undergo a major test of its structure (more on that below), the UN is a great example to explore.

Its membership structure, proposals and voting, and working groups all act in a way reminiscent of DAOs. Its Security Council is similar to a validator group. Yet, the UN lacks the mechanisms to make it decentralized and autonomous.

💡Maybe it could get there, though. Could the UN become more like a real DAO? And how?

These questions are explored in the full article 👉 here
