NEW β China/Taiwan: On Monday, the PLA Eastern Theater Command is employing #Liaoning aircraft carrier group with its troops of army, navy, air force and rocket force to conduct drills of vessel-aircraft cooperation, joint air control, and strike on maritime and ground targets in the waters and airspace to the east of Taiwan. URGENT π¨π³β‘π―π΅ Japan's Maritime Self Defense Force observed Chinese PLA Navy's aircraft carrier "Liaoning", along with other warships, who were sailing in the waters about 490km south of Yonaguni Island (Okinawa Prefecture), and confirmed that the "Liaoning" had made about 90 takeoffs and landings by its carrier-based fighter jets and about 50 by its carrier-based helicopters, totaling about 140 takeoffs and landings.
It was confirmed that these vessels sailed toward the South China Sea on Tuesday.
