πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺβš”οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ – German Chancellor Merz again allowed the transfer of Taurus to Ukraine, but noted that this will not give a quick result .

"Of course, it's within the realm of possibility," the Chancellor said on ZDF television, answering the host's question about the Taurus.

But he added that these long-range missiles "require several months of training for soldiers in Ukraine," and that handing over the system in six months or a year would not benefit Ukraine today, and Germany wants to increase military support today.

Let us recall that, according to the German press, Germany intends to finance the production of Ukrainian long-range drones.

NEW – Great Britain is set to publish a new strategic defence review today that will be its toughest in decades and will identify Russia as an β€œimmediate and pressing threat” to national security and the West. The 130-page document has been prepared by a team of advisers to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, including former NATO Secretary General George Robertson.

πŸ”΄ Key review details:
β–ͺ️ Russia has been described as the most serious military and strategic challenge facing the UK and Europe since the Cold War. The review stresses that Russia's aggression against Ukraine and the build-up of its military presence on the EU's borders pose a risk of widening the conflict and require an immediate response.
β–ͺ️ China is defined not as an enemy but as a β€œsophisticated and persistent challenge” that sometimes cooperates with Moscow. Iran and North Korea are labeled as regional destabilizers.
β–ͺ️ The document notes that modern threats include not only tanks and missiles, but also cyberattacks, sabotage, drone attacks and AI, which can disrupt critical infrastructure and disable communications.
β–ͺ️ Among the structural measures is the creation of a new Cyber and Electromagnetic Command, which will be headed by General James Hockenhull.
β–ͺ️ For the first time since the 1940s, a new volunteer "Home Guard" is planned to protect key infrastructure - power plants, airports, transport hubs - from drone attacks and sabotage.
β–ͺ️ The size of the British Army has reached a historic low (70,860 personnel), so an increase of 5,000 troops and an expansion of reserve formations are being discussed.
β–ͺ️ A commitment to increasing defence spending has been formally confirmed: 2.5% of GDP by 2027, with an ambition to reach 3% in the next parliamentary term. This is expected to boost the defence budget by more than Β£50bn and will form the basis for new commitments at the NATO summit in June.
