Heavy explosions being reported in several areas across the Iranian capital of Tehran.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued an evacuation warning for Ras al-Khaimah in the north of the United Arab Emirates, telling residents to immediately evacuate the city, stating that the area will be targeted in the near future due to its use in strikes against Iran.

Reports of a large fire burning following an Iranian drone strike on the U.S. State Department’s Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center (BDSC) in the Iraqi capital, located on the site of Baghdad International Airport.

According to Reuters, Iraq has declared force majeure on all oilfields developed by foreign oil companies, citing the ongoing conflict, including Iranian strikes on Gulf nation energy infrastructure, for the move. Per the report, citing officials with knowledge on the matter, "Based on the situation, the ​ministry ordered a full shutdown of production at affected concession areas, with no compensation arising from the measure ‌under ⁠contract terms."

According to the Wall Street Journal, citing multiple U.S. officials, Iran has targeted the joint US-UK military base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean with two intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBM). According to the report, one missile failed in flight whilst the other was engaged by a U.S. guided-missile destroyer utilizing an SM-3, but a successful interception was not confirmed. None of the missiles hit the base. This is notable as Iranian long-range precision fires have not previously been publicly assessed as having the range to hit such a target as Diego Garcia, as the base is some 4,000 kilometers from Iran.

The Khorramshahr-4 is likely the intermediate-range ballistic missile that Iran used in the attempted attack on Diego Garcia, which analysts had previously assessed may have a range of +4,000km, though it had only been proven at between 2,000-3,000km. Such an attack would suggest that the Khorramshahr-4, which can carry a cluster and other unconventional warheads, could be used by Iran to strike almost the entirety of Europe, possibly as far as France and the United Kingdom.

CNN has confirmed reports that Iran fired two intermediate-range ballistic missiles, likely Khorramshahr-4s, at Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean on Friday, over 2,300 miles from Iran, with neither missile impacting the joint American-British military base, according to a U.S. official.
