The U.S. Coast Guard, with assistance from Navy, interdicted and seized the Panamanian-flagged, Chinese-owned sanctioned crude oil supertanker M/T CENTURIES, today in the Southern Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Venezuela, as the Trump Administration escalates its campaign of pressure against the the Government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, officials told the Wall Street Journal.

Previous reports that the ship was the Comoros Islands-flagged, Indian-owned tanker M/T DIANCHI, appear to have been false, though the vessel does remain a target of sanctions and is currently operating off the coast of Venezuela.
