On Tuesday, December 16, the U.S. Navy carried out the first-ever-launch of a new one-way attack drone, a copy of an Iranian Shahed-136, from the flight deck of the Independence-class littoral combat ship, USS Santa Barbara (LCS-32), while transiting the Arabian Sea. The drone, dubbed the Low-cost Unmanned Combat Attack System (LUCAS), was launched and operated by Task Force 59 part of Task Force Scorpion Strike, a one-way attack drone squadron recently deployed to the Middle East.

A Russian Orlan-10 Surveillance Drone has been discovered intact within the İzmit District, Kocaeli Province of Northwestern Turkey, roughly 50 miles to the east of Istanbul and over 350 miles from Russian-occupied Crimea and Mainland Russia, in what appears to be yet another major violation of NATO as well as Turkish Airspace.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s name was added to the Kennedy Center earlier today in Washington, which now reads “The Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts” after a unanimous vote yesterday by the Kennedy Center’s Board of Trustees, most of whom were appointed by President Trump. The Kennedy Center’s name change would usually require approval by Congress, but so far the Republican-led House and Senate have refused to show any kind of pushback to such moves by the Trump Administration.
