Reports this morning of multiple injuries sustained by both U.S. and Syrian Forces near Palmyra in Central Syria, following an attack on a joint-patrol by unknown militants, possibly ISIS.

U.S. Air Force F-16s are conducting a “show of force” over Palmyra and other areas of Central Syria in response to today’s serious, potentially fatal, attack by ISIS-linked terrorists against a joint-patrol of U.S. and Syrian Forces.

U.S. officials have confirmed to Fox News that multiple U.S. Servicemembers have been injured as a result of the attack in Central Syria.

Several U.S. and Syrian Soldiers injured in today’s ambush by ISIS on a joint-patrol near Palmyra in Central Syria were evacuated via helicopter to the Al-Tanf Garrison in Southern Syria.

Two U.S. Navy EA-18G “Growler” Electronic Warfare Aircraft and an E-2D “Hawkeye” Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Aircraft, along with several F/A-18E Super Hornets from the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), are currently airborne over the Southern Caribbean off the coast of Venezuela. Occasional jamming seen both today and yesterday on flight radar suggests that the EA-18Gs are actively conducting electronic warfare measures towards Venezuela.

Speaking to reporters prior to leaving the White House for tonight’s Army-Navy Football Game, President Donald J. Trump spoke about today’s fatal attack against U.S. and Syrian Forces in Central Syria, which killed three Americans, once again vowing retaliation against ISIS.

Large numbers of U.S. and Syrian Forces are beginning to arrive in and around the Central Syrian city of Palmyra, where an ISIS attacker ambushed and killed three Americans earlier today, with reports of an imminent counter-terrorism operation against sites affiliated with the Islamic State in the Homs Governorate. In addition to ground forces, heavy activity by fighter jets and other military aircraft is also being reported over Palmyra.

Initial reports by first responders on-scene of at least 20 injuries in the shooting at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, with several possible fatalities. The shooter possibly fled the area, with it not known if shots are still being fired at this time.

The shooter is reported to be down and in custody at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

UPDATE: Brown University is now denying reports earlier from police that the shooter at the campus in Providence is down and in custody, urging students and facility to remain sheltering in place, with multiple law enforcement agencies on-scene, including the Rhode Island State Police.
