U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem left in the middle of today’s heated hearing in front of the House Homeland Security Committee, claiming that she had to be at a meeting for the FEMA Review Council, a meeting which is now confirmed to have been cancelled by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Democrat Rep. Seth Magaziner, Ranking Member for the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, challenged Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on the reported deportation of several veterans during today’s hearing in front of the House Homeland Security Committee.

Magaziner: “Madam Secretary, how many United States military veterans have you deported?”

Noem: “Sir, we have not deported U.S. citizens or military veterans.”

Magaziner: “Madam Secretary, we are joined on Zoom by a gentleman named Sae Joon Park. He is a United States Army combat veteran who was shot twice while serving our country in Panama in 1989… He was arrested in the 1990s for some minor drug offenses… Earlier this year you deported him to Korea, a country he hasn’t lived in since he was seven-years-old.”
