A swarm of unidentified drones that caused the closure of Munich International Airport in Southern Germany overnight on Thursday and Friday, as well major disruptions at other airports and military sites in Frankfurt and throughout Germany, have been determined by the Bundeswehr to have been “military-grade reconnaissance drones” launched and flown by an unknown actor, according to a classified report seen by BILD.

At least two commercial flights bound for Vilnius International Airport in Southeastern Lithuania, near the border with Belarus, are currently diverting for an unknown reason to Riga in Latvia.

Initial reports of possible drone sightings in the airspace around Vilnius Čiurlionis International Airport and near the border between Lithuania and Belarus.

Commercial flights are continuing to divert away from Vilnius Čiurlionis International Airport in Lithuania. The cause is still unknown, with reports suggesting everything from a hot air balloon that drifted close to the airport, gps interference, and even reports of unidentified drones having entered Lithuanian Airspace from Belarus.

Vilnius Čiurlionis International Airport in Southeastern Lithuania has now issued a Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) closing the airport until at least 2:30am, while confirming that tonight’s delays and diversions were due to a “series of balloons” approaching the airspace over the airport from the direction of the border with Belarus.

Belarus and Russia appear to be escalating their “hybrid campaign” against countries in Europe, now launching balloons over the border into Lithuanian Airspace, similar to the near-conflict we saw recently between North and South Korea.

U.S. District Judge Karin J. Immergut, who was nominated by President Donald J. Trump in 2018, has issued a restraining order temporarily blocking the Trump Administration’s federalization and deployment of the Oregon National Guard to Portland, until at least October 18, 2025.

Commercial flights are now totally avoiding the airspace over Eastern Poland.

There are almost no military flights visible tonight over Europe, despite a large-scale drone and missile attack ongoing against Ukraine and balloons launched into Lithuania from Belarus. It appears in the last 24 hours or so, both NATO and the U.S. have halted the use of visible transponders for most, if not all, military aircraft, including fighters, tankers, surveillance, and command & control aircraft within European Airspace.

An Australian E-7A “Wedgetail” Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Aircraft has just appeared over Poland heading in the direction of the border with Ukraine, alongside an F-35A Lightning ll, likely either Dutch or Norwegian, that appeared briefly but has since “gone dark” flying east over Western Poland.

The Wedgetail has also now turned off its transponder over Eastern Poland.

The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces states that Polish and allied aircraft have been scrambled due to the activity of Russian long-range aviation and one-way attack drones in the airspace over Ukraine, adding that fighter jets are intensively operating in Polish Airspace, while ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached their highest state of readiness across Poland.

Roughly a dozen Russian one-way attack drones are currently flying over the Lviv Oblast of Western Ukraine near the border with Poland.

Thick black smoke can be seen rising across the Western Ukrainian city of Lviv, roughly 30 miles from the border with Poland, following multiple ballistic and cruise missile strikes, as well as impacts from one-way attack drones, during tonight’s large-scale attack by Russia against Ukraine.

According to U.S. officials who spoke with Axios, when Hamas came back with a “yes, but” to President Donald J. Trump’s 20-point comprehensive peace proposal in Gaza on Friday, Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss what he saw as good news. However, Netanyahu appears to have felt differently, reportedly telling Trump: “This is nothing to celebrate, and that it doesn't mean anything.” Leading Trump to fire back: “I don't know why you're always so fucking negative. This is a win. Take it.”

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has stated that it is believed Russia is behind a recent spree of drone sightings over airports and military sites in Germany and across Europe, which disrupted dozens of flights and stranded more than 10,000 passengers this weekend at Munich Airport. Merz added that the frequency of the incursions into European Airspace was unprecedented, even compared to the Cold War, but that none of the drones spotted so far have been armed, instead appearing to be on reconnaissance flights against NATO.
