Earlier tonight, a commercial flight by Widerøe to Brønnøysund in Northern Norway, was forced to divert to Trondheim after a drone was observed inside the no-fly zone at Brønnøysund Airport.

The DIA says that the large ocean-going vessels have been modified to carry tanks and partake in amphibious operations by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), with China expected to have more than 70 of the large vessels in service by the end of 2026.

Satellite intelligence of the ferries from earlier this year shows them being used alongside a series of new landing-docks off China's southern coastline, as well as deploying amphibious forces in military exercises by the PLA and PLAN. The intelligence report from the U.S. Department of Defense assessed the commercial ferries as possible military targets in a conflict scenario with China, meaning that the ferries could be targeted and sunk by U.S. and Allied Forces in the event of a Taiwan Conflict, even if they are manned and operated by civilian crews for the Chinese Navy.

France has announced the deployment of a Counter-UAS Detachment to reinforce the Danish Armed Forces ahead of the European Union Summit in Copenhagen on October 1-2, following a flurry of unidentified drone sightings over airports and military bases across the country and throughout Northern Europe. The detachment will include a H125 “Fennec” Utility Helicopter, active anti-drone capabilities, and 35 personnel with the French Armed Forces.

Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called and spoke on the phone with the Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and apologized for the ballistic missile strike earlier this month against a meeting of Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital of Doha, expressing sorrow for the resulting death of an officer with Qatar’s Interior Ministry, according to Axios’ Barack Ravid.

Qatar had previously told President Trump and other U.S. officials that they required an apology from Israel if they wished to resume mediated negotiations with Hamas.
