✠ Morning Prayer
to the Most Holy Trinity ✠

As soon as you awake, make the sign of the Cross, saying:

GLORY be the the FATHER, Who hath CREATED me.
GLORY be the the SON, Who hath REDEEMED me.
GLORY be the the HOLY GHOST, Who hath SANCTIFIED me.

BLESSED be the Holy and undivided TRINITY, now and forever. Amen.

On arising from bed, say:

In the Name of Our Lord-Jesus Christ, I arise. May He bless, preserve and govern me, and bring me to everlasting life. Amen.

While you are dressing, occupy yourself with pious thoughts and meditations, on some point in the life or passion of your Savior, on God’s mercies, on your own sins, on the temptations of the world, on the shortness of life, on eternity, etc.; or say some psalm or hymn.

As soon as you are dressed, prepare to say your morning prayers. Before you begin, recollect yourself; think who you are, and Whom you are about to address; and endeavor to clothe yourself with sentiments of humility, reverence, and awe.

O Glorious Patriarch St. Ignatius, we humbly beseech thee to obtain for us from Almighty God, above all things else, deliverance from sin, which is the greatest of evils, and next, from those scourges wherewith the Lord chastises the sins of His people. May thine example enkindle in our hearts an effectual desire to employ ourselves continually in laboring for the greater glory of God and the good of our fellow-men; obtain for us, likewise, from the loving Heart of Jesus our Lord, that grace which is the crown of all graces, that is to say, the grace of final perseverance and everlasting happiness. Amen
