It’s titled: “Meditating Figure” and was constructed on The Ranch, owned by Max Levai in Montauk.

The people who live in Montauk are in an uproar, calling the artwork:

Of course the Town’s Board voted to take legal action against the Ranch…stating they didn’t get a permit to erect the artwork. 

According to the gallery, the sculpture represents a “deity built by capital and consumption; a reality of the daily contemporary experience,” describing it as a “contemplative giant.”

In response to the uproar in Montauk, Gallery owner and art dealer Max Levai said:
“If I'd like to display sculptures on my property for my enjoyment, that's my right,…and if they're not structures, they don't need to be permitted.”
