My current 3am thoughts on lockin after someone dmed me asking

Basically a successful grassroots meme relies on one, or a combination of three concepts right? It's either funny (pepe), or is referred to as having some form of cultural relevance (i.e first dog doing x), or is dominating the current mindshare of CT (think something like $gm back in 2021)

Lock in hits the latter two

Lockin is not only culturally relevant in CT, but also globally. There is not a SINGLE other meme which has been referenced by people like Kai Cenat/Adin Ross. Joe Rogan opened his recent podcast by saying lockin. Kendrick used it in his recent Drake disses. Imagine the mania if someone like this tweeted any of the current memes - the TL would be in shambles. I think basically every large account has likely used it at some point or another but the important thing here is that it's completely naturally, it was occuring years before the coin existed, and will continue to permeate the mainstream

As the coin grows, and so does its relevancy amongst CT, the line between someone using the term and shilling the coin blurs, and people using the term starts to be associated with the coin. Consequently, you get a flywheel of large accounts naturally shilling the coin, and smaller accounts permanently reminded of it's existence, repeatedly solidifying the coin deeper into the culture

Coins with strong cultural relevance have been/are currently successful even if only isolated to CT, and while I don't particularly like comparing x to z, it does give a reference point

$HSFP went to $50m
$ZYN went to $160m
$MOG pushing $1b soon
$GM, the only other successful "mantra coin", which was also only CT native, went to $750m

Countless dogs have gone to $300m+ and you think this isn't going to at least reach that?

In mania when normies are flocking here by the thousands I think they latch on to something they know rather than something obscure. Lock in will be that coin. I will happily argue it but I do not believe there is a single phrase which dominates global mindshare more, and it has done for 2 years or so. A mindset that is completely relevant to joining crypto, a mindset that will be more prevalent as the world spirals into harder living circumstances

If you disagree I will happily hear your points, I'd love to be tested on the thesis, but right now, I think the only thing stopping lockin from going ballistic is the price, and once it starts I don't think it stops very easily

Okay I only have like 5 of these and they aren't in any particular order. Will put a disclaimer if seed investment as a few will be (I turn down lots of investment opportunities so the ones I actually invest in I do think are a good idea)

Again, keep in mind these are all tech/utility plays. The market has clearly shown its hand that memes are the strongest asset, but I have talked previously about how I think utility will have a big run in peak retail mania. TLDR is many ppl want to feel like they are 'investing', not gambling

Have been bullish on Validao for a long time. Unfortunately it never really got the love I think it deserves and it's barely above my entry right now but I think the core principle behind it is something that crypto natives will rally around if it gets the right eyes on it

Validao is a DePin project which is aiming to decentralize staking infrastructure - something Vitalik has addressed as one of the main issues facing crypto. The team is very active and the project has $23m in assets delegated to it. I basically hold this with the thesis being that it will give me exposure to the suite of new chains which will be launching (Think berachain, elixir etc)

I think the concept is something that crypto natives will really get around, especially once it gets later in the cycle and everyone wants to cash out and is a project that I didn't really think twice about investing in. They are doing a lot of partnerships with athletes and leveraging pre-existing shops to make this happen

Would recommend following their socials if this is something you like the idea of to stay on top of it

I've been in this one since launch as well. Honestly I can't even try and begin to explain this but its some nerd defi shit and many people much smarter than me are bullish on it hahah. Originally bought because very old wonderland wallets were buying it, now I'm just a villager.

The yield generated here is real and is from arbitrage bots wrapping/unwrapping into the protocol for profits. Currently .5% of supply has been burned and this will only increase as every chain gets more volatile
