Hideaki Anno and Shiro Sagisu used the "Yamashita" motif (named after Bunta Sugawara's character) from Takayuki Inoue's score for THE MAN WHO STOLE THE SUN (1979) in a Tokyo-3 montage sequence for EVANGELION 2.0 YOU CAN (NOT) ADVANCE (2009).
