⚠️JUST IN: A teenager in LA was robbed of $350k in crypto after 6 kidnappers posed as LAPD and raided his luxury Airbnb.

The victim and his girlfriend were handcuffed and held hostage until he complied and opened a safe holding his Trezor, which the attackers used to send the $350k to themselves.

⚠️JUST IN: Head of security for Pudgy Penguins released an article on how to avoid being robbed IRL for your crypto.

He noted that many victims of IRL robberies are those who keep their seed phrase and Trezor/Ledger at home, which motivates attackers. Instead, he recommends storing them in a secure location far from home.

⚠️BREAKING: Russian crypto investor was found dead in the UAE after reportedly failing to pay a $375M ransom during a kidnapping attempt.

Local authorities say he and his wife were abducted in October and held through November. Both were later confirmed deceased after the kidnappers were unable to access a crypto wallet holding roughly $500M.

⚠️JUST IN: 9 European callers who ran a large-scale social engineering center were arrested today and had their cryptocurrency and luxury watches seized.

The group had been calling crypto investors and pressuring them into sending additional funds. Authorities seized expensive watches along with $1.5M in cryptocurrency.

⚠️ BREAKING: Notorious fraudster Danny / Meech, who worked with Malone Lam and was involved in the $243M theft, was arrested in Dubai alongside several others.

A Dubai villa was raided by law enforcement, where many of COM’s biggest fraudsters had been living lavish for the past year off stolen funds.

Multiple actors responsible for over $300M in social engineering theft were arrested, and more than 4,900 ETH (~$15M) was seized.

⚠️JUST IN: The BunniV2 exploiter deposited 2295.8 ETH (~$7.23M) into Tornado Cash to clean the stolen funds.

BunniV2 has since shutdown after the exploit, citing that they were no longer financially stable enough to keep the platform running.

Their final message offered a 105 ETH bounty (~$325K) for anyone who could help arrest the exploiter.

⚠️JUST IN: Notorious memecoin trader Babur was drained for $27M in ETH and Solana assets.

Babur has been active since 2022, mainly trading memecoins. All of his crypto holdings were drained, with the only assets untouched being his Telegram Plush Pepes and the Solana stored in his Axiom & Photon wallet.

⚠️JUST IN: The memecoin trader drained for $27M has now offered a $5M bounty to the attacker if the funds are returned.

On-chain data shows the stolen assets were split across three wallets, each actively laundering the funds through mixers.

⚠️JUST IN: A Binance employee has been suspended after working with an insider group to promote and launch memecoins.

The insider used access to official Binance accounts to promote the memecoins for the insider group. Binance is now taking legal action and paid a $100k bounty to the person who reported the scheme.
