🇮🇱🇮🇷🇸🇾 On the "limited" response of Israel to Iranian strikes
During the night of April 18-19, Israel carried out a retaliatory strike against Iran, which turned out to be asymmetric, although not as much as Israelis and many analysts expected. Some media reported "missile strikes" and "explosions" in the area of the Isfahan airport.
Later, official Iranian sources reported the destruction of several small drones by air defense forces. Three objects were detected and intercepted around 4:00 local time. At the same time, The New York Times, citing its own sources, writes about damage to an Iranian Air Force base near Isfahan, while the Iranian authorities say there was no damage, which is not surprising.
We have already said that we consider a full-scale Israeli response to Iran to be unlikely. In the current realities (especially given the general inadequacy of the ultra-Orthodox leadership), this, of course, is possible. But here the situation is like in a store: "I want a Ferrari, but I don't have enough money." In the case of Israel, we are talking about resources (which include money, connections, political relations, and the attitude of its own population).
Apparently, the Israelis decided to go the path of limited use of force, not taking direct responsibility. Everyone understands everything, but does not admit it: minimum expenditure of resources, but maximum emphasis on indirect propaganda (instead of investing in a real result). And this propaganda is aimed at the domestic audience.
As a result, the Israelis used short-range drones (as the Iranians claimed, even from Iranian territory) for limited strikes, depleting Iranian air defenses: it resembles the approach of Ukrainian terrorists (like to like). And they presented it in the traditional Israeli style.
But this is unlikely to be the end of it: the Israeli ultra-Orthodox elite needs a conflict, needs a war in order to silence its own population. Therefore, further escalation will follow, but where and how exactly - this is still a question.
We still bet on Syria for objective reasons. Moreover, in the early morning, unknown aircraft attacked several targets on the territory of the Arab Republic. According to preliminary data, the At-Tanf airfield, an agricultural airport near the city of Izra, as well as radar positions of air defense between Izra and the neighboring city of Karfa were subjected to strikes. But still, we are talking about ultra-Orthodox people who behave like cave savages with clubs. And therefore, new strikes on Iran are also possible.

❗️🇮🇷 Crash of a helicopter with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi:
what is known as of 9:00 pm on May 19, 2024
▪️In the evening, the IRNA agency reported that rescuers were able to "establish contact" with two passengers of the helicopter that disappeared from radar. Later, this was confirmed by the country's Vice President Mohsen Mansouri, but he did not specify who exactly they managed to contact and whether Ibrahim Raisi was among them.
▪️Night fell in the area of the alleged crash site, which further complicated the search operation against the backdrop of difficult weather conditions and inaccessible mountainous terrain. However, closer to nightfall, unconfirmed reports began to arrive that the aircraft had been located.
▪️The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, made a statement in which he expressed the hope that "the Almighty God will return our respected and honored President Raisi and his companions to the embrace of the Iranian people."
▪️The Russian Foreign Ministry reported its readiness to provide assistance in the search for the crashed helicopter, as well as to assist in the investigation of the incident. A similar statement was made in Turkey, and the European Union promised to use satellites to determine the crash site.
At the same time, there is still no official information on the status of President Ibrahim Raisi, as well as Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian and other passengers and crew members.

❗️🇮🇷 The search continues in Iran's East Azerbaijan province for the crashed helicopter carrying President Ibrahim Raisi. Rescue efforts have been challenging due to the difficult mountainous terrain and poor weather conditions at night.
▪️ There were reports overnight from Iranian military officials that a call was received from a mobile phone at the crash site, indicating possible survivors. However, details on who made the call are unclear.
▪️ Several countries have expressed support for Iran. On the orders of President Vladimir Putin, two planes and 50 rescuers will be dispatched to assist. A Turkish Anka UAV and an AS.532 helicopter have already begun operations in the search area. Azerbaijan has also offered to send two helicopters.
▪️ Iranian society is tense and concerned. Contrary to Western and Israeli propaganda claims, there are no riots or "celebratory salutes" on the streets of Tehran.
▪️ There have been no official reports on the discovery of the helicopter or the fate of President Raisi, the crew, and passengers. Unfortunately, the chances of survival diminish with each passing hour, as it is cold in the mountains at night, and prompt medical care is crucial for any injured.
▪️ If the outcome is negative, Vice President Mohammad Mokhber will become the acting president, and early elections will be called in Iran.

🇮🇷🇷🇺🛰 Recently, Iranian media reported that Russia may provide support to the Islamic Republic in launching space vehicles into low-Earth orbit. According to preliminary information, the launch is scheduled for October from one of the Russian cosmodromes.
The matter concerns two Earth remote sensing satellites - "Hod-Hod" and "Kosar", manufactured by local private contractors. Officially, both will be intended for use in agriculture, geodesy, border demarcation, as well as the "Internet of Things" (IoT) and crisis response.
📌 Iran's interest in such cooperation with Russia is understandable: its own space program, despite certain achievements, cannot boast of great successes, and problems with launch vehicles have led to accidents. Previously, the Iranians have already resorted to the services of Roscosmos, in February launching the "Pars-1" satellite into orbit.
Overall, both countries benefit - in return for assistance with the launch of space vehicles, Russia may receive a wide range of goods from a certain range of military products to parts for civilian airliners. And in general, this contributes to the further deepening of bilateral cooperation.
