🇺🇸 New Mexico reaches $500M settlement with Walgreens in opioid case
New Mexico has settled with Walgreens for $500 million over the pharmacy chain’s role in distributing highly addictive prescription painkillers.
The agreement was signed in March, and state officials confirmed that a confidentiality provision on the agreement was lifted Friday.
The settlement is in addition to $274 million in settlements obtained in the case last fall from Albertsons, CVS, Kroger and Walmart. Attorneys representing the state say that, in all, New Mexico’s opioid litigation has brought in more than $1 billion.
They argued at trial last year that Walgreens failed to recognize suspicious prescriptions and refuse to fill them.

As well as the fact that the AFU reliably lost at least 101 vehicles, some of which are geolocated on our map. For #Pentagon representatives it is, by the way, available in 👉 🇬🇧 English version.
The thing is different: Long-time readers of our channel remember how we used to criticize the national defence ministry for its clumsy handling of information. And here the #US and its allies demonstrate exactly the same thing with even more ridiculous excuses and idiotic phrases about "environmentally unjustified" maneuvers.
📌 However, against the background of demonstrated quality and bias of foreign analytics on the #SMO over a year it is not even particularly surprising!

Several terrorist media outlets have been reporting lately that the Syrian National Army #SNA has been planning to send fighters to the illegal #US base in Al-Tanf for 1,000 USD salary, while the SNA leaders have been firmly denying. (They denied sending fighters to Libya and Azerbaijan before)
Anyways, the recent news indicate that 7,500 SNA fighters will be sent in 15 batches, as a first stage, to the Al-Tanf base in southern #Syria, via #Erbil airport in #Iraq.

🇺🇸🇲🇽 $4 million worth of meth seized at US-Mexico border, hidden in vegetables
More than $4.36 million worth of methamphetamine was intercepted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.
According to the agency, officers at the Pharr International Cargo facility stopped a semi-truck coming from Mexico and referred it for further inspection.
During a physical inspection of the cargo, officers allegedly encountered 2,232 packages of meth concealed by a shipment of mixed vegetables. In total, the packages of narcotics weighed 488 pounds.

The U.S. Consulate in Matamoros, Mexico, issued an emergency alert to shelter in place amid an outbreak of gun violence on Monday. The consulate announced that its "employees are currently under a shelter in place order" due to violent crime in the city.
Matamoros was the scene of intense gun violence this week after a shootout involving Mexican marines. Four individuals were killed Monday in a clash with Mexican authorities during an investigation into kidnapping.
No marines were killed in the incident. Authorities recovered guns and radios from the scene.

🇵🇪🇺🇸 Peru and US strike $20 mln Amazon-focused debt for nature deal
The United States has struck a deal with Peru that will help the Latin American country restore and protect some of its parts of the Amazon rainforest. The agreements will reduce Peru's debt payments to the United States by over $20 million over the next 13 years.
The debt-for-nature swap, as these kinds of agreements are known will put money towards conserving protected areas of the Amazon.
It is made possible through contributions of $15 million by the U.S. government under the Tropical Forest and Coral Reef Conservation Act and a combined donation of $3 million from four international non-governmental organizations.
This is the third debt-for-nature swap between the United States and Peru and took around two years to finalize. According to the Treasury, the first two swaps occurred in 2002 and 2008 and together generated about $36 million for the restoration and conservation.
