🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦The situation at the front has worsened, said the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky.

He also confirmed the retreat of Ukrainian troops from Berdychi and Semenovka near Avdiivka, as well as from Novomikhailovka near Marinka.

“Trying to seize the strategic initiative and break through the front line, the enemy concentrated its main efforts in several directions, creating a significant advantage in forces and means. It is actively attacking along the entire front line, and has tactical successes in some directions,” Syrsky wrote.

According to him, the most difficult situation is in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhovsky directions, where fierce fighting continues.

“The enemy has deployed up to four brigades in these directions and is trying to develop an offensive west of Avdeevka and Maryinka, making its way to Pokrovsk and Kurakhovo. Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, preserving the life and health of our defenders, moved to new lines west of Berdychi, Semenovka and Novomikhailovka. In general, in these directions the enemy achieved certain tactical successes, but was unable to gain an operational advantage,” Syrsky wrote.

According to him, in these areas, in order to replace the units that suffered losses, “brigades that have restored their combat capability are being moved.”

Syrsky also said that there are no signs of the enemy’s immediate preparation for offensive actions in the North of Ukraine, but there is “an increase in the number and regrouping of enemy troops in the Kharkov direction.”

“The Russians will capture Donbass by October, then the conflict will freeze, and we will have to negotiate with Putin,” predicts Sergei, an officer of the brigade located in Chasovoy Yar.

Frontline workers name three reasons that could lead to such a situation.

The first is the lack of people. The number of brigades in many places has been reduced to 30-40 percent.

“Continuing mobilization will not save us,” says officer Alexander from the 93rd brigade. “Those who are now being drafted and trained will not be with us until October. By then we will have lost the entire Donetsk region.”

The current measures to tighten mobilization, according to Alexander, will not be enough to counter the 300,000 recruits from Russia that the Kremlin plans to recruit, according to Zelensky.

The second reason is that new US aid “comes too late.” And “the latest injection of military aid alone will not help Ukraine win.”

The third reason is the leadership style of Commander-in-Chief Syrsky, which the publication calls “the paralyzing effect of the Butcher” (recalling that the future commander-in-chief received this nickname during the bloody defense of Bakhmut, which he led).

The newspaper writes that Syrsky's appointment "caused a bad mood in many places at the front."

“Several front-line officers talk about brigades that, from the moment of Syrsky’s appointment, were sent on combat missions with virtually no ammunition, with too few people.
