The golden ratio, or phi (1:1.618), is a mathematical proportion found throughout nature and long associated with balance, harmony, and visual beauty. Artists and architects have used it for centuries to structure compositions, from Renaissance painting to modern design. While some historical claims are debated, the ratio continues to influence art, photography, architecture, and visual storytelling through symmetry, spirals, and compositional geometry.
