Workshop on Critical Transitions in Complex Systems 2020 (online)
29th - 31st July 2020

Complex systems research has been at the forefront of scientific priorities for some time and many very interesting phenomena have been identified and explored in the context of a wide variety of applications. This workshop is part of a series, reflecting on an emerging movement to develop a mathematical theory for sudden changes in the dynamical behaviour of complex systems, so-called critical transitions. The prospect to develop reliable early-warning signals for such critical transitions is potentially far-reaching since these could lead to better control strategies to avoid or diminish the effect of catastrophes.

Can a study of community differences (in demographics, settlement, mobility, weather, and epidemic history) allow these factors to be identified? Has “herd immunity” to COVID-19 been reached anywhere? What are the best steps to manage/avoid future outbreaks in each community? We analyzed the entire set of local COVID-19 epidemics in the United States; a broad selection of demographic, population density, climate factors, and local mobility data, in order to address these questions. پنج قانون کلیدی کتاب «فرمول، قوانین عمومی موفقیت» باراباشی

1️⃣ درسته که عملکرد خوب از مولفه‌های موفقیته اما وقتی عملکرد غیر قابل ‌‌اندازه‌گیری باشه، شبکه‌‌ها موفقیت رو تعیین می‌کنند. دانش شما موفقیت شما رو تعیین نمی‌کنه، بلکه برای موفق شدن #شبکه ارتباطی عامل مهمیه.

2️⃣ عملکرد محدوده، اما موفقیت نامحدود. سرعت دویدن شما یا کیفیت محصولی که می‌تونید تولید کنید محدوده. اما هیچ محدودیتی در پولی که می‌تونید بدست بیارید یا زندگی‌هایی که می‌تونید تحت تأثیر قرار بدید وجود نداره.

3️⃣ موفقیت قبلی اگه در شایستگی ضرب بشه موفقیت آتی بدست می‌آد. این‌که از قبل ما رو به عنوان شخصی عالی، برجسته و شایسته بشناسن به موفقیت‌های بعدی ما کمک می‌کنه. برای همین اگه هنوز شناخته شده نیستید، با شخصی که ارتباط برقرار کنید که حسن شهرت داره. مردم به کسانی که می‌شناسند گوش می‌دن، حتی اگه تمام حرف‌هاشون کاملا معقول نباشه.

4️⃣ اگرچه موفقیت تیمی نیازمند تعامل اعضای تیمه، اما دست آخر معمولا یه نفر به خاطر دستاوردهای گروه مشهور می‌شه.

5️⃣ اگه پشتکار داشته باشیم، امکان داره هر زمانی به موفقیت دست پیدا کنیم. ما هیچ‌وقت نمی‌دونیم که کدوم یک از تلاش‌هامون منجر به دستیابی به موفقیت ناگهانی می‌شه، بنابراین منطقی اینه که به تلاش و ایجاد خلاقیت ادامه بدیم.

این پنج قانون به عنوان قوانین موفقیت در اختیار ما قرار گرفته. فرمول موفقیت به ما می‌گه عملکرد عالی داشته باش، چیزهای عالی درست کن. با کسانی که باهات متفاوتن یا ازت بسیار جذاب‌ترن ارتباط برقرار کن. تلاش کن و هرگز تسلیم نشو. این‌ها رمز و راز قوانین جهانی موفقیتن.
