On the eve of Passover, I want to warn the citizens of Israel. We are facing another security disaster.

For 13 years, I have been a member of Israel's security cabinets and the most sensitive security forums. As prime minister, foreign minister, finance minister, member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

In all those 13 years, I don't recall a warning as grave as the one issued last night by the Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, to the political-security cabinet. Anyone who heard him yesterday will not be able to say, "I didn't know."

"I'm raising 10 red flags," the Chief of Staff said. "The IDF is on the verge of collapse."

This warning aligns with what I and other sources know about the state of the army. Our pilots, our fighters, are writing glorious chapters in the history of the State of Israel these days. We're talking about a generation of lions doing phenomenal work, but the IDF is stretched to the limit and beyond. The government is leaving the army wounded in the field.

Anyone who says now, "We must not talk about the dangers during wartime because it weakens us," has probably forgotten what we learned on October 7. The role of the security system is to warn before the disaster happens, not after.

The Chief of Staff reported to the cabinet yesterday that he no longer has a way to continue mobilizing reserves. He has reservists in their sixth and seventh rounds. These reservists are exhausted and worn out and can no longer respond to our security challenges.

The Chief of Staff reported to the cabinet yesterday that the regular forces are in complete collapse. The army doesn't have enough soldiers for its missions. The fact that the government continues to encourage Haredi draft evasion is a security danger and a severe blow to the army's readiness.

The Chief of Staff reported to the cabinet yesterday that he is forced to transfer more and more forces to Judea and Samaria because of Jewish terrorism.

The Chief of Staff detailed to the cabinet a whole series of threats, most of which cannot be detailed on camera, but the bottom line is: The government is sending the army into a multi-arena war without a strategy, without resources, and with far too few soldiers.

The government will not be able to say this time, "I didn't know." This is the Chief of Staff they appointed, and they won't be able to politicize him and pin the blame on him.

Starting last night, Prime Minister Netanyahu will not be able to say, "I'm not responsible."

The warning was given by the Chief of Staff, but there is no single figure in the security system that does not stand behind it. The government must stop the cowardice, immediately halt all budgets to the Haredi draft dodgers, send the military police after the deserters, draft the Haredim without hesitation.

The government must fight Jewish terrorism with all means. Strip the authority from Ben Gvir who openly supports Jewish terrorists, activate all enforcement capabilities.

I want to say from here to the government of Israel: The warning has been given. It's on your heads. It's on your hands. You cannot continue to abandon Israel's security, in wartime, for petty politics.

As was once customary to say: Let the IDF win.
