. @KSAT_Kongsberg is ready to monitor the launch of @esa's #ArcticWeatherSatellite📡🛰️

The first signal will be acquired from Svalbard ground station (Svalsat).
Svalsat's location at 78° North latitude provides a unique advantage for tracking and communicating with satellites in polar orbits.

While we wait for the launch window to open, let's have a look at why @esa's #ArcticWeatherSatellite is such a cool mission:

we are currently missing data for data for accurate short-term forecasts: this satellite will do exactly that
its development was faster and cheaper than the standard EO mission
it's the prototype for a much bigger constellation that we would build for @eumetsat

What can an #AI powered satellite do for us at Earth Observation?

The #Phisat2 satellite can:
detect clouds
compress images before downlink
detect marine vessels
monitor ecosystems
detect wildfires
convert satellite images into street maps

Watch the launch live from 20:43 at @SpaceX X account.
