Spain has installed a 500-metre floating barrier off Ceuta after a mass migrant crossing from Morocco killed at least 67 people.

Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said he will not join the political opposition against President Zelensky during the war, despite protests over his dismissal. "I don't want this situation to artificially drag me into politics," he said.

Fedorov added he would only return to government if reinstated as defense minister, while insisting Ukraine's shift toward AI and robotic warfare is "too far along to reverse."

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman urged President Trump to avoid launching major new strikes on Iran during a phone call on Saturday, according to U.S. officials.

More than a dozen wildfires are burning across Washington State, with the largest—the Old Trails Fire near Spokane—rapidly growing to about 2,500 acres due to strong winds and extreme heat.

Mandatory evacuations were ordered for parts of Spokane County, including a hospital, while around 4,000 firefighters and the National Guard responded.

No injuries or deaths had been reported as of Saturday evening.

Officials called it an extraordinary wildfire season, with over 1,000 fires burning about 425,000 acres this year, fueled by drought, record heat, and strong winds.

And I think it's important for two big countries like this—the two most powerful countries in the world—to have a relationship, to have the ability to speak to one another, and try to de-conflict where possible because it could lead to some really bad things.

The foundation of that is the relationship that President Trump has with President Xi, which is a relationship of mutual respect, and they get along, and that really is important that our two presidents can speak to one another.

And it's okay. It's—I think it's almost irresponsible, by the way—to not have direct communications with the Chinese. We want stability in our relationship.

And unfortunately, we made decisions in our foreign policy on that ridiculous basis that actually caused us to hurt our country.

We started saying things like, "We don't care where things are made. Let it be made in another country as long as it's cheaper prices for America," and it ended up de-industrializing our country and costing us millions of jobs.

So what you see President Trump doing now is re-balancing those things.
